I wish we could be put on a waiting list where we would be sent a copy as soon as they get fixed. I am referring to the Blu Ray edition, which as far as I know no one has been able to find yet?

Yes, the UK Blu-Ray is region free.

I got an e-mail from Momentum from a lady telling me she'd e-mail me again when amazon.uk had the corrected version, but I get the region free part, though I'm still confused on the SD/Pal special features part.

Does the UK version have any SD special features, which would be in Pal, and from what I understand would still have playback issues on a player in the US?

Thanks.

There are a few deleted scenes, and I did notice some minor skipping. But that's it.

Thanks. Looks like there will never be a "perfect" solution for this release.

The US distributor has zero interest in their customers, they've never even bothered replying to an e-mail, they haven't corrected the subs on the BD yet, and, I think, they even had a rep say something public mocking people for being so "picky." On top of that, the US release doesn't have the commentary. Usually this wouldn't matter, because I'm not a big fan because I just don't usually have the time, but I've heard this one is great and I really loved the film, so I'd like to hear about it.

The UK version will eventually get corrected audio and a company I'm guessing somewhere in the UK replied to my e-mail about their audio issues in less than 2 days, despite knowing a US release exists. And clearly they're compiling a list of people who contact them, to give them information when the corrected discs are available. A for effort there. BUT I will have deleted scenes that may or may not skip or may be barely noticeable or may be really bad probably based on each individual player. That kind of sucks too.

All things considered, unless the US BD comes out very soon, I'm going to get the import and just not worry about the deleted scenes. I'm tired of waiting on this one.

I picked up a corrected version of the DVD at WalMart for $13 tonight. I haven't been able to spot a corrected copy at Target for $10. I bet when I check tomorrow after class, there will be a corrected version on the shelf. :)

Last week, when I stopped in to Target to pick up Monster's Inc and Up on Blu-Ray, I spotted a corrected version for $10. Fortunately, I hadn't opened my Wal-Mart copy so I was able to return that. Woohoo! :)

According to today's (12/11) Two Cents post on Digital Bits, corrected copies of the US BD are finally starting to show up on shelves. There's even a pic to prove it!

Yes, that's a great price, but has the audio been corrected yet? Dolphinboy, have you heard anything from the lady at Momentum?

I finally found this with the theatrical subs at Best Buy locally. Picked it up for $9.99.

I'm going to try to go out this week hunting for a Blu copy with the theatrical subs.

The thread is 17 pages long, but I'm looking to pick this up on Blu-Ray as well. How do I tell which one is the corrected subtitled version? Thanks for anyone who can answer me and not criticize me for not going through all 17 pages.

Ok, but only once.

Check this out: http://www.thedigitalbits.com/#121109

The picture there shows you how it says "subtitles (theatrical)" on the back cover.

I'm guessing there's no plan to replace the discs? I pre-ordered a BD and had no idea of the subtitle issues. :(

I watched this on the Netflix Instant view and the subs seemed to be the theatrical ones. But the thing that drove me crazy was they kept moving the subs from the bottom to the top and back to the bottom and back to the top. It was making me crazy. Is it supposed to be like this? I like the subs to be in the same spot during the movie.

Just read on Digital Bits that someone ordered a Blu Ray copy from Amazon and got the correct version, so I believe it is safe to buy from them now.

I watched it the same way. Apparently, the subs are at the bottom only for the DVD and Bluray.

I can confirm that Amazon does have the corrected Blu-Rays and are shipping them now. I just ordered one on Monday and got it today; it does say "English (Theatrical)" on the back now!

I got mine for Christmas so I can second this.

I just picked up the BD from my library. It says SUBTITLES: ENGLISH, SPANISH on the back. I am assuming this is the crappy subtitled version. Somebody probably donated it to the library and bought the "corrected" version. :D

Anyway, I will probably watch it tomorrow night. The majority seem to believe that the subtitled version should be viewed despite its flaws rather than watch the dub version... is this correct?

Trevor 01-20-10 09:35 PM

Re: 'Let The Right One In' US dvd subtitle issues

^ asking whether to watch the dub version? I guess you're drunk, so please post more to entertain us. ;)

But yes, do not listen to the dub. The film is so well done that you barely need the subtitles anyway.
