They had plenty of copies at my local Best Buy - Chattanooga, Tn - no sign of a shortage there.

I hope everyone remembers that Best Buy opens at 8AM due to the holiday.

Limited to 103,000 copies. I have 019532.

It is rather heavy and seems like a heavier more sturdy plastic than what you would think. Any other questions?

I just got back from getting my SD briefcase from Best Buy. They had 6 SD briefcases and several copies of the 4-disc & 2-disc versions.

I'm guessing that by noon it will be hard to find any briefcases.

I called best buy @ around 8:30 they didn't get any blu-ray cases in stock. I don't know if I should call them back and tell them to hold one for me when it comes in?? Idk if they can do that or not. Probably not. I'd order one on amazon but who knows when they'll have them stocked again.

Just returned from the Nashua NH Best Buy - about 7 standard dvd briefcases on the new release table. Forgot to check for HD and BR.

The 5 disc (non-case) HD set I ordered for my brother last friday shipped from Amazon yesterday with a Dec. 24 delivery date.

I ordered the 4 disc SD for myself yesterday and it is still pending.

The Best Buy in Greece NY(just outside Rochester) only had 2 SD briefcases, no HD-DVD or Blu-ray briefcases at all. I am not surprised though, we don't get anything here when the technology is new, albeit a year-old. My Briefcase #047748/103000

Of course amazon is all back ordered. I just tried getting someone from customer service and it cut me off. Whats the point in buying this if it's not going to ship out until after Christmas and that's projected ship date as well.

I got standard DVD briefcase at Best Buy at The District in Tustin. They apparently only got 2 in stock, with no Blu Ray or HD briefcases. I got there at about 9am, and one of the two was in another guy's hands. I got the other one. Price: Just under $60 after tax. He did say that he heard that the Best Buy at the Tustin Marketplace got a few HD, Blu Ray, and Standard DVD briefcases, just FYI.

Has anyone else done the online ordering and in store pickup from best buy before? How long after your order is placed do they send an email saying you can pick it up? Also do they charge the card at time of purchase or when they know it is in stock?

Where is the number on the briefcase? I don't see it.

My friend gave me a $35 gift card so I canceled my Amazon order and bought it today at BB and I'm happy I did cause it sounds like people are getting screwed on that.

EDIT: Never mind. 066789/103000

EDIT 2: By the way for those who are wondering, this is one of the nicest sets I've ever purchased. I was sort of reluctant, recently, looking at the reviews and thinking "what the hell am I going to do with a toy spinner car, I wish they sold the 5-disc without the briefcase" and the moment I had it in my hands, even before I'd opened it I'd changed my mind completely.

No blu at any store in my area. BB said you can order it on line though and it would be there by the 24th. BB had at least 10 of both SD and HD-DVD.

I ordered my HD-DVD Briefcase version online at Best Buy.com at 6:30am this morning.

Got my conformation e-mail at 7:30am that it was ready for pick-up. I showed up at 8:30am whe they opened. The couldnt find my order at the customer service desk. After about 10 minutes they realized that it wasnt in a standrd DVD package, but in a Briefcase. They gave me 10.00 off the price as well, because I had to wait.

I didn't see any Blu-ray Briefcases, but they had a few of the HD-DVD variety

Picked mine up this morning at Nashville Best Buy. Only 2 on shelf... 1 now. Came home and cancelled my Amazon order, since it has not moved to "shipping soon". Sorry Amazon...

There's plenty of briefcases at my local BB. However, I resisted and ended up buying the HD set. It seemed that the HD and BR sets were selling faster; at least that is what the guy who worked there said.

Which Nashville location do you go to? I went to the Franklin/Brentwood location around 11:00 and they had a bunch.

By the way, are you going to go see the movie when it shows at the Belcourt Jan4th-10th? I don't know if I should watch the Blu-ray when I get it on Christmas or wait until after I see it at the theater.

For my fellow Canucks out there, HMV seems to be your best bet if you're looking for this release. The particular one I visited had all the releases, the 2-disc, 4-disc and briefcase SD-DVD sets, and the 5-disc and briefcase Blu-Ray and HD-DVD sets. All the briefcase sets were priced at $79.99.

I did not see any briefcase sets at Best Buy or Future Shop (though that might be because they either didn't put them out yet or they sold out early).
