Blade Runner....DELAYED
 

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but it appears there is a delay in the release of the new Blade Runner set, both 4 disk set and also the briefcase set (all 3 versions are affected). Amazon is now stating on their web site there is a production delay with ALL retailers so I am going to assume no stores will have them on sale tomorrow. Has anyone actually seem a set in person? This is definitely bad news for all collectors, SD-Blue Ray-HD DVD are all affected.

Umm. There's a local store that got their DVD and HD-DVD copies which I saw in person. BTW, is the case suppose to be metal? It looked more like plastic..

I didn't see the Blu-Rays, but I assume it was there someone. I'm in Canada BTW

My Amazon order stated it was being prepared for shipment, the Amazon CS person states that might not be the case. No one seems to know. I pre-ordered my set in July.

JUST the briefcase? It may just be amazon ran out or something, as I know people that have picked up both.

A metal case would be costly, so I'd expect it to be plastic. But others I'm sure have more info on this.

I looked on Amazon's page at the 5-Disc HD-DVD version (no briefcase) and there's no message, though there is that message for the Blu Ray version... Maybe they haven't gotten around to updating that one?

On the amazon the 4 disc and the ultimate for SD version have it.

I checked the 4 disk SD set and all the briefcase sets, all have the delay message. I personally spoke with someone at Amazon CS, they could not tell me if my set was indeed shipping today or tomorrow. My status page states the set is being prepared for shipment, that was the same message I had last night. Has anyone actually seen the set in person? If so maybe Amazon does not have enough sets to fulfill their orders. Has anyone got a delivery confirmation email from Amazon yet?

DD sent me an email saying my HD briefcase shipped, so maybe online retailers got a limited quantity that sold out the first shipment.

Why do I have a feeling the B&M supplies are going to go fast on the sets tomorrow, if they get their shipments in.

This is what I see when I check my order. I placed my order August 1, so I better be in the front of the line if there's a shortage!! I ordered the 5 disc HD DVD set.

If my BB gets it in, I might go ahead and pick it up. I'll just not open it in case my Amazon order ships.

My amazon order for the 5-disc HDdvd (non-briefcase) is still on track to ship soon (as in, I can't cancel the order). So I'm pretty sure it's just the briefcase that's delayed.

Dang, this would suck since I ordered through Amazon the SD briefcase set, the very first day it was up for preorder! I need to check to see my status.... It says not yet shipped yet. Ugh.

I am doing the same thing tomorrow. But if there is a delay why can't we cancel our Amazon order? Has anyone else tried calling Amazon CS?

Nope, it seems all the orders are stating the same. Has anyone got a Amazon email stating the set has shipped?

my 5 disc briefcase is listed as "shipping soon" with a delivery estimate of 12/20 (i ordered mine july 27th).

I decided to change my shipping from free to standard just in case. Will see tomorrow if it actually ships. Delivery estimate between Dec. 22-24.

If someone was to call a B&M store they could probably tell you if the set is ready to be put on sale tomorrow. I am still trying to get a straight answer from Amazon.
