In a collection of that size, there's plenty for everyone to like . . . or so you'd think until you actually start wading in. There's more value in the John Cassavetes box set than there is in that whole collection. If you reduced it to the best twenty-five titles, I might give it a B. As is, I give it an F.
Disclaimer: Of course all that is just my opinion, and you're entitled to your own opinion, and who do I think I am anyway, and what about me owning X, Y, and Z titles that suck ass, and yada, yada, yada, ad infinitum . . .

I've been following this thread, and I honestly can't believe it's still going. Receiving a "rating" on your DVD collection is getting someone else's opinion, and that opinion is based on how they personally feel about certain movies. In fact, just receiving movie recommendations is mostly pointless, because opinions and tastes vary. Does receiving an "F" on a collection by a movie snob like Yakuza devalue your collection somehow? It shouldn't. You like what you like, and you buy what you buy, because you simply do. You don't owe explanations to anyone, and you don't have to like, or even try, something just because someone who seems to know what they're talking about tells you you should. Your collection is a reflection of you, and you shouldn't change it or try to improve upon it to please other people.
Rate my collection? No, thank you. I don't give a rat's royal rectum what anyone thinks about my movies. Recommend a movie? Go right ahead. But I'll tell you right now that if there's nothing that's happened in my life, or if I haven't met the kind of person or people whose opinions I value enough, to make me appreciate a late-60's French impressionist art film directed by some revered cinema icon I've never even heard of...I probably won't even give it a chance. Sorry, but that's me. I'm an individual who knows what he likes and doesn't follow fads or trends or go with the crowd just to fit in...and I offer no apologies for any of that.

However, there are a lot of great titles there too and titles that I probably wouldn't want to see but that still look interesting. I'll give it an A-.

I'm not particularly concerned about other people's ratings of my collection as I am about their point of view. I like to hear what other people think. Cheers for checking it out anyway.

Alot of the movies in there i don't own or would never own. The ones that I have that you have are good but the ones you have that i dont arent my favorites. I would say its an average collection. The lack of old classics made before the 80's hurts your collection. You need to get some Hitchcock films in their.

If I were a twelve-year-old girl, I'd love your collection and give it an A+++ with hearts.
I'm just kidding. About the girl part, anyway. Some twelve-year-old boys might like it too. As is, I give it a 25 out of 100: some good anime, and a few good other titles, but plenty more bad than good.

I'd give your collection a A based on the quantity of movies you have. The collection would rate around a B you have alot of the same movies I have and have a lot I would like to own at some point in my life. Yours is better than most of the ones people in here have asked people to rate.
