Question and comment:

Q: The Target ad mentioned exclusive content...is it the same as everyone else or is there actually something extra?

C: FYE in East Hanover, NJ had plenty of steelbooks...in fact I had to tell the cashier and the buy behind me what it was. Seems like there was 8 of each, by my count. But it was Decepticons for me.

I haven't been to Target so I can't say for certain, but lately Target tends to refer to the second disc in standard two-disc sets as "exclusive content". Transformers is probably no different.

I picked up the Autobot steelbook today. I had reserved it and they had it behind the counter. There were about 10-15 other steelbooks on the shelves, but they were all Autobot ones. I didn't see any Decepticon ones.

I figured as much...you got to love vague ads. Beats false advertising any day if you ask me!

That's it!

I haven't waited for Best Buy to open in quite a long time. This morning I indulged myself. It was still exciting! Approximately 15 people waited with me. There was a huge display just inside with different Transformers, lithographs and various packaging options of the film. I grabbed the Gift Set and a very friendly lady, could've been a manager, handed me a lithograph. We chatted about the film, DVDs in general and the High Def annoyance. I'm still smiling - wow 10 years really hasn't taken the shine off of good old DVD.

the guy behind me was getting the standard disc, even though he wanted a HiDef version... the non-existant Bluray edition... I had to tell him about the whole Paramount/HD-DVD deal - he was surprised/annoyed... told him I was sorry about being the bearer of bad news - oh well...

There were about 20 of the transforming dvds on the shelves at Target, but I overheard them say they received 140. I bought the 2disc with the Bumble Bee toy, along with the transforming gift card.

Since Blockbuster was nearby I also picked up the mp3 player.

Any one have a Costco price yet? I'm assuming they only have the regular 2-disk there.

*Out of my observation (but YMMV for others, I guess) the Target I went at happens to be an isolated Target (meaning, exclusives here are at high availability) but to my suprise the 30 stocked Transforming DVD package sold out in about 30mins.

Same thing in FYE for me. Guy behind me though the steelbooks were Blu-Ray and I pointed out it was HD-DVD only...which apparently stunned the clerk. Guy then showed me he bought Planet Terror and I replied I already had it...both because I got it off the net and I went to Best Buy earlier, but I didn't elaborate.

On a related note, eBay had a few of the transforming cases go for $50 about an hour ago...damn people are crazy.

I just got back from my Target. I go to the pretty obscure/out of the way Target in my city (away from the 'burbs), so exclusives are usually easy to find. They only had 6 transforming cases left when I walked out of the store.

I overheard some customer at BB asking for a full-screen Transformers dvd.

Funny thing was that he preceded his question by saying "I know I'm being lame, but..."

I GOTS MY COPY!!

Surprsingly my target got in 3 cases of the Limited Editons and the first box sold out within minutes.

The other 2 boxes were selling out pretty quickly as I left about an hour ago.

I made the bad decision though to wear red today and lots of people asked me questions. Happily they were all about the transformers movie and DVD since I was hovering around there and I answered them all.

There were some ladies looking for a full screen edition as well and I explained to them the difference. They picked up the widescreen at the end (because thats all Target had anyways)

Xage, I knew you were a serious collector, but I didn't know you were a smooth operator too! Too funny.

I purchased one of the last few transforming cases on my Target shelves, but unfortunately didn't know about the transforming gift card until I saw your pic. I'm jealous!
