I know I'm in the minority, but I like the Besser shorts. I hope the releases go that far.

That's the one quibble I have with the releases, except for volume one, that stupid sony television logo comes up between shorts.

Amazon has Sets 1 thru 4 for $13.99 each, free shipping over $25 and no tax in CA (and other states). I just purchased sets 2-4. Don't know how long this will last.

I phoned DD to pricematch tower, and they charged me $13.69 for Volume 5.

It would be cool if they included that God-awful cartoon show they did with the live action intercuts as an extra on the last set in the series.

That won't happen. They're all in the public domain anyway, I'm sure some company will release a complete set eventually. One show they can pass on is The Robotic Stooges. That was terrible.

They were actually the Robonic Stooges. And yes, it was terrible.

Whatever. I haven't seen it since the 90s on Boomerang. It was awful.

That would be fantastic. Just like the short time-span between Volumes 3 & 4.

Would this volume include Joe?

No.

Depending on how they continue, Joe Besser shouldn't show up until Vol. 8 if they continue on the same three-year cycle.

But that would leave just one more year of Columbia shorts, so they may start tinkering with the number of shorts on Vols. 7, 8 and presumably 9.

I'm really curious what the comparative numbers will be for a non-Curly volume...

I'll continue to buy these Stooges sets through the end of Shemp's tenure. If the release date on Volume 6 is accurate, that would be great news.

How many volumes are projected to be released in total?

I really wish there were some extras on these sets, but the video/sound quality has been excellent. Maybe we will get some extras as we get into the Joe era, to encourage people to buy all of the sets.

We think alike my friend, once shemp is done i'm done, and yes 6/16/09 would be great for the next set.

Has there been any word on a release date for Volume 7? I would think we would have heard something by now! Sony has been really consistant on the the release schedule for these sets.

On August 18th, Movies Unlimited showed a pre-order listing for The Three Stooges Collection Vol. 7 1952-1954 as November 10, 2009. Unfortunately, the listing has since been taken down.
