Volume Three: 1940-1942 slated for August 26
Classic Flix is reporting that Sony is soliciting an August 26th release date for Volume Three.
This set from Sony will continue the chronological format with great shorts like You Nazty Spy!, A Plumbing We Will Go, An Ache in Every Stake, Some More of Somoa, Matri-Phony and Three Smart Saps to name a few. This release may be a good sign of things to come with seven months between volumes 1 (Oct 2007) and 2 (May 2008), and only three months between this release and volume 2. The shorts included should be: 1940 You Nazty Spy! Rockin' Thru the Rockies A Plumbing We Will Go Nutty But Nice How High is Up? From Nurse to Worse No Census, No Feeling Cookoo Cavaliers Boobs in Arms 1941 So Long Mr. Chumps Dutiful But Dumb All the World's a Stooge I'll Never Heil Again An Ache in Every Stake In the Sweet Pie and Pie Some More of Samoa 1942 Loco Boy Makes Good Cactus Makes Perfect What's the Matador? Matri-Phony Three Smart Saps Even as IOU Sock-a-Bye Baby |
It's a good sign that the window between these releases is decreasing...

Apparently the site where this tidbit of info is pretty reliable.. if that's the case.. then holy crap. I'm beyond excited.

A Plumbing We Will Go.....YES! My favorite Stooge short. I never cared for the remake with Shemp.

Because they're not the popular choice to buy anymore. They do the same thing with cd's. Advertisers think people will only buy what's new and " hip" so they rarely advertise anything that is not "hip" or happening now. They cater to a small age group and the rest have to fend for themselves. |
i need to catch up

Has a release date been announced for Volume 5?
Based on the previous releases I was hoping we would see Volume 5 released in January. |

Volume 5 on March 17th

I managed to pick up Volumes 3 & 4 at Christmas. Excellent quality.
The best thing that I like about these is if you're a busy person you don't have to spend a lot of time watching these shorts. You can watch a few and not lose a lot of time from your day. |
Great news!

Excellent news, although I shed a tear seeing the last of Curly.

I'm falling behind in picking the sets up as I only have 1 and 2 right now.

This will be the last one I buy. I never cared for Shemp or the later Curly Joe.
