Thanks for the plan! I might have messed up otherwise.

I have only seen parts of one episode, loved it, and am patiently waiting for the total set. I've waited this long, I'll wait for the "mystery" set.

- Season 1: 7 further episodes. Ends on a cliffhanger. The main mystery is not resolved in this season.

- Season 2: 22 new episodes. The season premiere was a 2 hr ep. The main mystery is resolved mid-season, with additional storylines opened up to fill out the remainder of the show.

- Fire Walk With Me: Prequel movie takes place before the events of the show but must not be watched until you've seen the entire series. The movie assumes you've already seen the show and contains major plot spoilers for the series.

This is the only correct order in which to watch the show.

I hate to be a killjoy, but when the complete series eventually comes out how can it be called 'the complete mystery' when it won't include the feature-film because New Line owns the rights to the movie whereas Paramount is releasing the series?

That's not quite fair. No TV show with a movie "episode" ever packages them together with the series proper. It's not expected, yet they can call them complete series.

I don't think he would have a problem with calling it the complete series. It's calling it the complete mystery which is a little misleading. But really, does it matter as long as it comes out?

I have the prequel movie, so I'm covered there.

Wow, 1st season set going for $80 with 3 hours to go. This might be a good time to put my unwatched copy up.....

I was very tempted to put my 1st season set up on Ebay but decided against it because I believe that if/when Paramount decides to release the first season, it will not be comparable to the Artisan set in terms of extras and the inclusion of DTS.

I agree with your reasoning Lorenzo, but I'm not an "audio (or video) guy", so DTS (or anamorphic) mean nothing to me. Sad, I know.

I'm still torn, because I'm an extras whore, but if I don't sell it before the whole set is announced I'm sure the resale value will plummet.

Just watched a few episodes of S1 with my girlfriend this weekend (her first time). She seemed to kind of like it, but I told her to watch a few more to really get into it. I am pumped for S2!!!

Not to threadcrap or anything, but while the pilot and S1 combined, clock in at a taut 9 hours total, S2 clocks in at a whopping 23 hours and seems to lose its way about halfway through the season and sadly, jumps the shark.

Lynch would have been better served to have made a mini-series ending where the Laura Palmer mystery is resolved.

Since I am impacient, I am really tempted to get this version
http://cgi.ebay.com/Twin-Peaks-Seaso...QQcmdZViewItem
its apparently the region 4 release that also claims to have the pilot as well. I can handle the pal speedup.

I think it has already been noted that this set is not nearly as good quality as the U.S. sets. Lynch himself has approved the transfer of the Season 2 set. Wait!

This review is up at Amazon:

I have the actual discs in my hands right now. People expecting a nice companion to sit alongside their Artisan season one box sets are going to be really, really disappointed in this corner-cutting job. All 22 episodes are packed into three slimline cases, wrapped in a cheap-looking slipcase with a shockingly low-res screen grab of Agent Cooper as its main image. Absolutely awful! It looks like a bootleg.

The log lady intros ARE here, but they're of a drastically degraded quality, as opposed to the sharp and nicely corrected image in the shows themselves. Sound appears to be great, as we've come to expect from Lynch releases.

If there's a mega-box in the works, I'd advise fans to hold out till it appears.

Thanks for the review.

Personally, I could care less about the packaging even if it came in a paper bag, I would still buy this set.

However, the PQ comment about the log lady intros is disheartening to me but I'm glad to see that the review indicates that the actual episodes have a nice PQ and sound.

haha, this kinda entertains me!

People have been waiting YEARS for this set to be released, and now we are nitpicking? I mean honestly! This is a paramount release, we ALL knew that the packaging was going to be different, and 3 slim-cases in cardboard is pretty much a standard pack now a days (when was the last time you got a digi-pack from a major studio?) I mean were lucky its not packaged like '7th Heaven' and 'Beauty and the Beast' in that weird white thing thats the same size as a normal DVD.

As far as the Log-Lady intros go, what did you expect? The intros were filmed with NO-BUDGET and on VIDEO! Also, it is incredibly expensive to clean prints up, and there probably wasn't anything they could do for the intros... especially since they've been sitting in the vault for a decade in a half!

At this point I'm just happy that I can retire my old VHS box-set and enjoy the episodes on DVD, no matter what the packaging or the special features, its the episodes that truly count!

Because it has been so long in the works, I think we should expect much more. Why should this just be another sleazy package just like all the other crap that comes out? With all the demand for this, fans expect something nice. This sounds sleazy. It makes me want to wait for a complete set

And the same studio will be putting out the complete set (allegedly...has it even been confirmed yet???) so why would you expect the packaging to be any less "sleazy?"

I guess I'm the only one who prefers slimline cases to digipacks.

Still, I'm holding out for the complete series release.

I like slimline cases too. Digipacks sucked.

As long as the A/V is great that's all I care about. It's a pretty cheap set too, so I have no problem taking a hit package-wise.

I also prefer slimline cases as well.

I prefer slimlines for TV shows, and I wasn't expecting the video-shot Log Lady intros to be high quality, anyway. This new info doesn't really change anything for me.
