I wonder if any of that stuff will show up on the rumored Full Series set later on.

I really think they should have tried for consistency here. The absence of commentaries and the DTS is really too bad. New Line even included a great DTS track for "Fire Walk with Me" and this one series where SOUND IS KEY.

Still, I guess we're all just thankful to see the 5.1 on there at least, and a smattering of extras. I'll be buying it.
I just finished with the set. I'm just thankful to see Season 2 at all. The 5.1 tracks are more than adequate.

- I agree with The Running Man. It's worth noting though, that this isn't a region 1 dvd, right?

- Oh, I didn't calculate the currency difference. Not bad, but these discs aren't region 1, right?
Yeah, sorry for not mentioning that. The Mexican DVD release of the first season, including the pilot, of Twin Peaks is region 4. But it's also NTSC meaning that you only have to worry about beating the regional coding.

If you can play any region discs and want the complete first season with the pilot it's the release to get.

This quick cutaway always made me laugh when I'd watch episode 21. It's only on for five seconds, but the headline is ridiculous. Two exclamation points in a headline from a Seattle newspaper? Plus, now that it's on DVD you can actually read the article that goes with it, and it doesn't make a lick of sense.

I'll spoilerize the photo, just in case. It's not a major plot point...

Seattle's Asian community must not be very large for that to be a two-exclamation point event...

Speaking of Asians, funny thing, I'm not sure if any of you remember me mentioning this or not, but I am one of 4 people that runs the annual Twin Peaks Festival, which takes place in the towns where they filmed the pilot episode and FWWM (and of course most of the exterior shots through the shot are the footage they filmed during the pilot).

ANYWAY, I don't think there's been more than like 1 or 2 Asians-Americans at the festival in the 6 years that I've been going to and running it. It seems like every year there is someone that doesn't speak english at all. Usually a Japanese girl.

Tying this ALL back into DVDs of season two, last year at the fest Paramount was there filming extras. They filming a filming locations tour (15 years later and how stuff has changed... of which I'm the star ) and they filmed a featurette on the festival (I believe Don Davis mentions the fest in the S2 release in an interview).

When talking with the Paramount people, they said they have the Log Lady intros, they have the Georgia Coffee commercials from Japan, and they have the Auntie Em/Twin Peaks is back on Thursday nights commercial. They've even got some deleted scenes/outtakes, and have interviewed a bunch of people.

It's interesting to see that the only extras that made it onto the S2 release are the log lady intros (and I'm glad that at least those made it) and some interviews.

Here's hoping that the complete series boxset has all the other stuff that they've filmed and compiled (and really, I sort of got the idea that they were going to save a bunch of stuff for the big boxset anyway).

I'll still buy the S2 release though.

If anyone cares, here's a link to some of my festival photos:

And here's a link to the festival website (non-profit):

Has there been any word about S1 being released separately by Paramount at some point? We keep hearing about "The Complete Mystery" set supposedly being released later this year, but I haven't heard anything about a set with just the pilot and S1.

Anyone think that the OOP Season 1 set is going to be selling for even HIGHER than the set is going for now? So many people are going to see season 2 set in stores next week and the first thing they are going to do is look for season 1. I was thinking of listing the complete set on Ebay, Season 1, Season 2, the OOP Import Pilot and FWWM. I was thinking putting a buy it now of $500 and go from there...Any thoughts?

Perhaps there's going to be a bonus disc at a retail location?

In case you need a refresher course on season one before you start watching season two, allow Alan Thicke to explain it all to you:

I suppose they will as it is their product, as they released it in other territories for some time now.

If you want a legit copy of the first season and it's pilot (in NTSC not PAL), then check out the post I did on it on the previous page. Or just click here.

Sorry if this has been answered, but does Paramount have the rights to the pilot episode? I'm trying to decide if I should hold onto my copy, or sell it along with my S1 set.

EDIT: Nevermind, I found my answer. (rEAD TEH THRED!!!111 lolz)

I suspect it is going to go even higher after next Tuesday when people see season 2 and start hunting for season 1. Someone really screwed up here, they should have re-released season one the same day season 2 comes out...I am still debating putting the complete set on Ebay for $500 Buy It Now......

Any particular reason why?

My thinking is, as soon as Paramount releases S1, the oop Artisan S1 will be obsolete, and worthless. I'll be kicking myself for not selling it.

And I honestly don't care too much about DTS or features. And I was never all that thrilled with the picture quality. It had a very red tint to it.

FYI.....Here in this part of MA I had trouble locating Twin Peaks Season 2 set. My local Walmarts had absolutely none, Kmart nothing, I finally went to Target and they had a grand total of 4 sets. Not sure right now but could this set be tough to find? I know Best Buy did not even have it in their sale flyer this week....Good luck all!

I just called my local BB and they have for ~$45. Amazon would seem to be the best deal. I was hoping the B&Ms would have better local deals, especially during the first week.
