Great news! Can't wait for the full spec list. Also great to see that there will indeed be remastered transfers (unlike Heat). Still, no mention of a Batman Forever director's cut....

lisadoris 07-27-05 09:34 AM

Available individually: music to my ears.

RockStrongo 07-27-05 09:43 AM

Maybe this was already posted, but is there a Batman Begins release date and specs?

Im hoping the packaging is very simple for it...like a dark, rusty cover with only the new batman symbol on the front.

I hope they dont trick it up too much.

Well, considering the first releases were not only A) some of the first releases EVER on DVD, they were also all B) SINGLE layer releases. Now we'll have double the space and double the discs. PLUS...no snappers :)

True, but wasn't Heat also one of the earlier WB releases (though it was at least double layered)? But yes, no snappers, new transfers, lots of special features...I've been waiting for this for a long time.

Could someone edit the thread title to reflect the date change?

RockStrongo 07-27-05 09:55 AM

I think im just gonna buy the first one....I dont really care for the others.

Christian Bale is Batman to me

Fincher Fan 07-27-05 10:13 AM

This is great news! Now I can watch them in order from Batman Begins to Batman & Robin!

Please be kidding. ;)

Carcaridon 07-27-05 02:11 PM

I'm probably the only one not looking forward to these. As far as I'm concered, there's only been 1 Batman film: Batman Begins. I never really liked the whole Batman thing by Burton. And Batma Forever/Robin, Yeesh!

All Batman Begins and animated series for me. :)

Im almost right there with you....I think im just going to buy Batman 1989 for the Jack performance...I would never watch any of the others.

But, Begins is the definative Batman film for me....quietly (and sometimes not so) anticpating the sequels.

Probably.

Well, the thread title says Batman...some may, as I did, think it was Batman Begins dvd info.

Cameron 07-27-05 02:51 PM

I think when Warner does a press release we should start two new threads for The boxset and for the new movie. Link this thread to the first post of each and lock this thread. Seems to be confusing some people, and after 11 pages, Things seem to be clustering up.

It would've then most likely say "Some BATMAN BEGINS SE DVD news!", I imagine.

LivingINClip 07-27-05 05:06 PM

It was reported they would be released on the same day, including Begins.

Dalvin 07-27-05 06:57 PM

still wiush they just boxed all 5 films together, but oh well.

Perkinsun Dzees 07-27-05 07:53 PM

Yeah, woulda been cooler if they gave you the option to buy them separately or in a boxset.

Yup. I can see why some people may be confused, but this thread is in regards to the Burton/Schumacher films. We can leave the Begins talk to another thread :)

I can't even begin to understand this rationale, and I can't believe I just wasted the time responding to it. I don't understand how Batman Begins has any relation to the previous four if other than the same character. With that in mind, why would all four of them even be released together? They are not even that closely related. THe style and direction is different in each of them.

Batman and Batman Returns: Yeah, I can understand these two together...a little continuity.

Batman Forever: Only relation: Batman. Different director, different style, different theme.

Batman and Robin: Worst. Movie. Ever. Made. Period.

Batman Begins: Not even REMOTELY related to these, so therefore it has no place. I'm not even sure there were any overlapping actors. Anyone can clear that up?

Maxflier 07-27-05 11:06 PM

Yeah,if you want Begins to be boxed in with the Burton/Shitmaker ones then why not cry for the Adam West one to be boxed in as well?

DVD King 07-27-05 11:22 PM

the movies don't need to be together, there hasn't been just one batman comic book since 1939. By now it's mythology, open to different interpretations, even crappy ones like Batman and Robin.
