I called, the woman gave me shit.
I asked if they were issuing replacement discs, and she "yes, but only it was skipping," I said "it was," and she said "at what point." I was a little off guard, but I described where in the movie it was. she loudly let out a breath, and started to get my info.
nice customer service...

I think I made a boo boo. I'm not 100% sure which ANH is the one that came with the box and which is the replacement I got

Is there a way to tell for sure by physically looking at the disc??

What about checking the directory dates on your DVD-ROM drive?

About how long did it take for you to receive your replacement? It has only been a couple of weeks since I called them so I am sure it will be awhile. I am just curious.

I'll try that when I get home.

When they became available and were shipping them out it took like a week. Maybe they need to get more. You could always call back and check.

A question for everyone that has received the replacement disc...

Did they fix the problem where Greedo shoots first?

No, they didn't since Lucas wanted it that way.

The problem they were trying to fix was the freezing and pausing on certain dvd players.

Why not actually name the film your talking about in the title! ANH my arse! I had to read the 1st 2 pages to find out what dvd people are on about. You totally wasted my time reading that!

Because the older one freezes on certain players. So I want to be sure I have the good one. Now I'm not 100% sure which is which! DAMMIT!

Now that makes sense someone should alter the title then as I am sure theres a lot of people who have no idea what the threads about.

Sorry eau.

My post was actually a very POOR attempt at sarcastic humor.
Since quite a few people were asking if any audio fixes were included in this "freezing/skipping" recall I thought I would have some fun with it.

So I just got around to watching the movie last night (Ive seen it before, just havent had time to enjoy the DVD) and I noticed the skipping - I came here to see if others were having issues, and I'm glad to see I'm not alone.

I called the number, the woman seemed a bit doubting, almost asking me questions to catch me in a lie - "what is the problem? where is the skip exactly?" Anyway, I told her and it was no problem - she said they probably wont be sending more out until at least next week - which is fine with me, or even later because since a few people have gotten them, I'm confident I'll get mine.

So far I've called about this & BTTF this week - I'm getting all caught up

not to sound like a Fox customer service rep, but exactly where in the movie does the skipping/freezing occur?
