Got mine yesterday; don't recall when I sent off for them, but the letter accompanying the original disks was written 5/13/03, so that's not too bad, I guess.

Got my replacements in the mail about a week ago. It took them the same amount of time after I sent them in. That's pretty fast.
First of all, I'm pleased I got my replacements without knowing what the defects were. Now after seeing the difference in some of the pics that were shown on page 2 and even though they fixed the bottom part it still seem that we're missing some of the scenes on top. It appears we can't get everything in widescreen format afterall. Perhaps it might be good to have both the defect discs and the corrected ones.. hehe.

First of all, I´m located in Denmark
A few days ago I ordered the R1 BTTF Trilogy from Spun.com - a used DVD retailer. Of course I´m worried that I might be getting the faulty version when it gets here in about 2-4 weeks time.
I was wondering if anyone thinks this might be a problem in order to have the BTTF part 2 & 3 exchanged to the V2... eventhough I live in Denmark.
Naturally, I´ll send them a mail stating the situation. But maybe this exchánge deal are for US citizen only. Although, the exchange should be valid for anyone owning the R1 version regardless where they live.
Any suggestions or advice would be highly appreciated.

I sent them a rather scathing email after 16 weeks.
I mentioned that "I realize you're making the process difficult and annoying, to avoid having me send you faulty DVD's in the future..." and that "rest assured, as a college student I have ample opportunity to camp out at Best Buy and tell everyone which of your discs will replace for free."
They overnighted it to me that day. Never replied to my email, though.

Can you e-mail me the full contents of what you said in your e-mail? I have been waiting since January, have been given the runaround more times than I can count, it is just horribly infuriating. I thought I would have them back by May at the latest, I figured allowing 4 months for shipping time would be sufficient but apparently not.
My e-mail address is:
[email protected]
I would like to borrow some of the things you said if I may or at least get some ideas from it. I have sent several emails but apparently they were not scathing enough as they warranted no responses or discs....

Call those suckers directly at 972-293-5903 M-F; 9am-5pm (CST). Their email address is universalstudios&[email protected] but they don't seem to answer emails promptly if not at all.

Hey folks, I got the envelope to send the discs out...but I am getting doubtful after reading most of these posts...
Is it in the end worth sending the discs in? I can wait 2-4 weeks, but 16 weeks? No way...

Call. Call. Call.
I had the guy input me directly into the next-to-ship list.

Does anyone know if / when the corrected discs are going to be included in the retail trilogy package? Is there going to be a different ASIN number to indicate the package includes the corrected discs?

You can just send in your discs 2 and 3 (the postage will be around 80 cents), along with a letter that includes your name and address, and the reason for the return/exchange (you are not happy with the framing issues and would like to receive the corrected discs). Then, you should call them at 972-293-5903 after 2-3 weeks, to confirm that they have received them, and that you are in the queue to get your replacements.
The address that has been used up to this point is:
Back to the Future DVD Returns
PO Box 224468
Dallas, Texas 75260
However, I am not certain if this address is still correct. Can anyone confirm it?

If you guys who are waiting would have just bought them back in December and sent in your disks 2 and 3, you'd have your replacements by now and wouldn't have to worry about when they hit the shelves.

The first call was two months ago. The second call was two weeks ago. The next call is going to be not so nice.

Uh-huh. I sent my in Mid-Feburary and I still haven't received them. I've now made two calls (on my dime, mind you) to the CSR number and both times I've heard "Oh, we can't find your information or that you've turned in your discs. Did you use our pre-paid mailer? (yes) Did you send them to the right address? (I sent it to whatever was on the pre-paid mailer, so sure) Well, I'll put you on the list for next week."

I sent my BTTF 2 & 3 discs in the prepaid mailer about a month ago. I'm wondering how long I should wait before I call them and get worried they got lost in the mail? I had been dreading they might get lost in the mail and I'm afraid it might come true. I recently had 2 out of 3 Best Buy shipments never show up, so I'm wondering how reliable the mail is either direction in my area.
DGibFen,
Is there any news what is going to happen with your lost discs Universal said they did not receive? Are they just going to say "too bad" to you (and me), or will they allow you to prove you bought the set with an original receipt or original POP and be nice and send out the corrected DVDs to those whose discs got lost in the mail? Considering they accidentally sent some people 2 sets of DVDs, it would be nice if they didn't send some people 0 sets because they got lost somewhere.
Is there another thread discussing what to do about lost BTTF replacements? Thanks.

Well, I finally got them in Wednesday. Thank goodness. (And man, there is a huge difference in that jacket scene in BTTFII - wow!)
Manzana, Universal took my word for it. I told them this was the second time, and they sent it. What you should do is call the number that is located in this thread and ask if they have received your shipment.
