Hmm, i kind of like the fancy packaging. Widescreen digipak flipper here. Funny how apparently 1/3 of the people here have the mysterious 2 disc version

I actually like the case if it would only snap shut. I like the outer cover. I don't mind how the insert fits in. I read someone stating that the leaflet would slip out. Mine won't its in there snug. I agree the case could be better. But I've seen much worse so I'm OK with it.

So what's the deal with this BEST BUY booklet? Is it decent? Worth the trouble of seeking out? Does it fit into the packaging, or is it something that you'd have to store elsewhere?

It does not fit in the packaging. You have to store it elsewhere. It is, however, very nice. Reminds me of a booklet of postcards. Includes the more memorable images from the film. It's worth having.

My gift set arrived from Amazon today. Thought I only had two small cracks and a floating rod until I opened it up. At that point, one side almost fell off of the case.

Sigh.

Returning.

For a Digipak, they did a good job. It feels like a bound hardback book, so it should hold up better than most Digipaks.

I was at Blockerbuster yesterday and noticed they had a keepcase behind the counter. It was a in-store display. I asked if they had any copies in and they gave me the digipak version.

I then went to Hollywood Video and their shelf display's were the keepcase version. The keepcase version looks great. Looks just like every other Universal release with a nice cover.

Unfortunately, looks like I'll have to get my snatch and grab on from Hollywood Video. I know, I'm a thief. I steal DVD covers from Hollywood Video. But I do have keepcase versions of E.T., Jackie Brown, Amelie, Pulp Fiction, Back To the Future, The Godfather and Warner Brothers titles like Training Day, Death To Smoochy, Insomnia, The Color Purple, etc. Risky I know, but my collection looks great with all that cardboard digipak crap.

I will get a pic up tonight once I borrow the keepcase Schindler's List DVD.

Movie rental places usually get keepcases for digipack releases. They also get keepcase versions of snapper releases, which is how I own keepcase versions of WB stuff like Insomnia. However, this is the only way you're ever going to get this, so I guess if you really want the keepcase you should wait for rental places to sell it PVD.

But, this is some of the nicest packaging I've ever seen on a DVD, so I don't know why anyone would want a plain old keepcase.

got my giftset exchanged today at bestbuy...no hassle. they had tons of them on the floor. figured if i'm going to pay $60 for a deluxe version, i'm not settling for anything less than perfect.

i recommend anyone who's thinking of buying this set to pick it up at retail, as the hard acrylic plastic case is SOOOO fragile, any shifting during shipping would probably cause some damage, to either the plastic case or the metal posts inside the case.

I've already taken the disc out and put it in a spare Amaray keepcase. Now just waiting for someone at dvdcoverart.com to come up with a nice custom.

Damn that glue they used on the back! Why couldn't it have been that sticky plastic cement-type stuff that rolls off easy?!?

I just got an email from Universal, and the two disk versions are being delayed. They will be out next week. And the disk artwork is suppose to be stupendous. You buy before then -- you lose!

That's RIGHT!!! Next week the 2-disk version comes out. I was told that is will be fantastic, and the desire to get it exactly right was the reason for the delay.

Nazi's are out, digitally replaced with Raptors, and Schindler is now played by ET. Non of whom get any royalties.

2 sided, single disc digipack here.

I like the case, other than the fact that the booklet cannot be stored inside. I don't like how the paper "insert" can just fall out of the bottom, and how the theft protection plastic piece is on display behind the disc holder.

For a buck more you can get the whole novel with the movie at Costco. I went that route. the come in the long-boxes at Costco and the good news regarding that...no glue on the back of the case. The sheet telling the specs is just laying on the back instead of glued.

By the way, the version at Costco is the one disc digipak. I really like the case. It is very hardback book-like.
