I don't really get why Paramount doesn't set an MSRP for a lot of their titles.

Am i the only one who isn't anticipating the highly anticipated Indiana Jones Trilogy?

Not meaning to threadcrap but it seems i'm very much in the minority as this always seems to be mentioned as one of peoples most desired titles.
But to those waiting for confirmation of the release..i say great news that it is finally about to happen!

Probably...?

I want it no matter what they put. As long as it is 5.1 and Anamorphic then I am happy! I will even double dip in the future for a 4 movie set when the time comes... *cue theme music*

As I said earlier, I might be tempted to upgrade Raiders, but since their not sold seperately...

If they're dirt cheap (under $25) I'll buy them. But I have the laserdiscs and that's enough for me.

Plus, I have a feeling these suplements are going to suck. More Beauzerou fluff. He used to make great docs (Jaws, 1941, E.T., American Graffitti), but now its just junk (Minority Report, A.I., BTTF, Femme Fetal)

It's about time!

I'm just a little disappointed that we didn't get DTS or any audio commentaries.

I am happy they are coming out, but since I was only really interested in Raiders, I am kinda pissed at the same time. Same thing happened with The Godfather and Back to the Future for me, but at least on those I wanted two out of the three. I could live my life just fine without owning Temple of Doom or Last Crusade. But since I have eagerly been awaiting Raiders, I guess I will probably buy the set and that's what Paramount was counting on when they did it this way.

Besides, nobody is forcing you to buy a thing. It's always funny when people don't make this same comment for LOTR. They're releasing umpteen versions, plus they'll release a box set at the end. Only Lucas and Spielberg seem to get these type of comments.

Did you ever stop to think that maybe they didn't originally have that much extra material. These films were made 15-20 years ago. They didn't record hours upon hours of bonus footage that they do today.
I hate it when a "fan" stands up for a studio that for lack of a better analogy is punting and with it, screwing die-hard fans. Yes, I'll buy it but for the same money or perhaps a bit more we could have gotten more extras. Even if they didn't use old supplements, what about creating a documentary with retrospecitve interviews on the making of each film. Or a commentary. Lucas would not have to be involved. Just throw some money at a documentary filmaker or an excellent DVD producer. Yes, I'm happy it's finally out but it could have been sooooo much more. Rant over!

Is anyone else PRAYING that the bonus material will include the theatrical teaser trailer for LAST CRUSADE that had Harrison's hat keep blowing off and then had him stapling it to his head?!

There was also a teaser trailer for TEMPLE OF DOOM that didn't have footage from the movie, but said something like "Steven Speilberg and Geroge Lucas are on location in Shi Lanka in the Indian Ocean filming the greatest adventure of all time..." and ended with a shot of Indy from RAIDERS saying "Trust Me".

Hope we get BOTH of these somewhere in the set!

I already have it on laserdisc, but I wonder if this retro documentary will make it onto the 4th disc:

It would definitely be cool to have this included...

Wow. The price is great, the covers look great (with the exception of the title alteration)... I would prefer the extras were a bit better. I don't see why they can't include all the original documentaries along with a fancy new retrospective.

Actually, you'll probably be paying about fifty dollars for the whole set.

You'll notice that they haven't put a MSRP on it, so the "approximately $49.95" is most likely the rock bottom price it will sell for. Paramount plays these kinds of pricing games with their boxed sets like "Godfather" and "Star Trek TNG."

Still it isn't a bad deal, at about $16.00 per film.

Why no DTS? Is it a competitor of THX sound or something?

And why won't these guys throw us a bone and do commentaries? At least on Raiders? These blowhards would cream their jeans for a Kurosawa commentary, or any other like influence on them, but somehow, 2 hours in their day is too much time. My guess is that they are probably afraid of coming off looking stupid. It's better not to speak and be thought a fool than to open your mouth and confirm it, as the old adage goes.

I would have liked to have seen the original documentaries made about Raiders and the other fillms included. There's a documentary called "Great Movie Stunts" from Raiders, "The Making of Raiders," and "Great Adventurers and Their Quests" from Last Crusade.

Here's hoping Lucasfilm remembers the original Star Wars-era documentaries.

You're not the only one. I've never seen them, and I have no desire to. They just don't look like something I'd enjoy. But I'm happy for the rest of you though.
