This is so stores can make up an MSRP and then advertise that they are saving you a bundle and make people feel like they are getting a better deal than from other stores.

Indiana Jones Trilogy
MSRP $129.99
Our Price $49.99

You Save $ 80.00 !

Hooray for us ! We are saving you $80 out of the kindness of our hearts !

The extra features will be more than enough. No need for overkill. DTS would be nice but it's not critical......

Yes!

This is truly a great day. I bought my DVD player 4 years ago, and I've been praying for this DVD release ever since. They could offer "movie only" DVDs with only a box set available for $200 and I'd probably be stupid enough to buy it and feel ecstatic! Um, provided I got letterboxed editions with digital sound. Truly a long time coming.

Begs the question: besides the Star Wars trilogy, what is the most egregious sin in terms of a film or series never being available on DVD? As someone who appreciates Star Wars but doesn't care about owning it, I can say this (Indy) release fulfills my list of "how in the hell can that not be on DVD" titles. For me, Schindler would be next, but it's not one I care to own (I just can't imagine watching it that many times!)

Yes, in somebody's mind. Doesn't everyone asking for DTS notice these 2 words related to this boxset?

THX
Lucas

THX + Lucas = no DTS. Pretty basic, really. Probably true for either one of those words individually, also.

That's it, I'm canceling my preorder!

I'm very disappointed the original soundtrack is not included. It takes up very little disk space, there is no reason to keep it off.

I’ll decide in November if I will buy this set.

I like the packaging..Who knew that sour puss Harrison Ford does smile from time to time..

As long as the video transfer and sound are up to par than any bonus material on the 4th disc is icing on the cake

Nope - but I think calling this a trilogy is a joke. There was only one very good movie followed by two steaming piles of crap. I may be the only one here who hated both sequels.

Screw that - I'm keeping my laserdiscs.
What's wrong with renaming it to achieve consistency? The same thing happened to "Star Wars" being given a episode number and subtitle when it was re-released back in the early 80's when a sequel was going to released.

Looks excellent. I care more about the movies than anything else, so I'm definitely happy.

I've seen a number of DVDs that are both DTS and THX certified. For example, Five Star Collection releases, such as the Die Hard box set, usually have both. Speed does as well.

Personally, I have no idea why none of Lucas' movies are released with DTS tracks. Always Dolby Digital. *shrug*

TRILOGY is a quantitative description, not a qualitative one

What was the original soundtrack? I think this was given a 6 channel suround mix for 70mm exhibition back in '81 wasn't it?

Edit: I checked. It was. A 5.1 remix will simply recreate (as nearly as possible) the soundtrack the way it was originally heard in theaters. They may have re-folleyed it or something, that would be bad, but I bet it will sound fine.

No, you most certainly are not. I am only interested in the first one--not the slightest bit interested in the other two and thus won't buy the set.

So do you think the box will have enough room to fit the 4th movie after it makes it to DVD some year?

Why does Jack Ryan get an extra DVD per movie and Indy only get 1 DVD full of extras for all three flicks?

This sucks. I hate Temple of Doom and Last Crusade is an okay movie so this is terrible news. I've waited all this time for a Raiders of the Lost Ark DVD and now who knows if I will ever own this movie.

I have the lasers also, I will be GLAD to part ways with them, the video is terrible! These are like 10-15 yrs old! I am just glad any WS 5.1 set is coming!
