Re: Barnes And Noble Coupon Thread Part 2

It's supposed to be a b2g1f sale on Criterion blu-rays. I posted this information I ran across on the sale a few pages back. Since it is a specialized sale on a select portion of the Criterion catalog I assume the regular 50% sale in November will still happen.

All the Blu-rays are currently 40% off so it's not even as good as this sale.

If BN thinks these changes are going to pull them out of the muck they are mistaken. I used to check that site every day, now I visit it maybe once per month. They have cut out cash back, coupons and still most of their merchandise is about 10% off list. Hello BN welcome to mediocraty you have good company with K - Mart and Sears.....

Yes, but remember the price of the Criterion discs during the b2g1f may be lower than the list price. For example, the last b2g1f sale, I was able to get The Gold Rush, Shallow Grave, and The 39 Steps for $50.98. This also included a $5 off $50 coupon.

Yes, those titles were on special because they had just been released. I don't think you'll see any such titles this time around. $39.99 will be standard.

jwstl is right, 40% off is better than 33 1/3.

They were that cheap for a couple hours online because the previous B2G1 sale was still in place and 50% off MRSP happened to overlap (this had been blocked for many of the prior sales where overlaps happened).

If that happens this time (I suspect that loophole will be plugged) then you'll see an hour or two overlap between the 40% sale (ends at 3am edt 9/4/2012) and the next B2G1 deal (may start sometime after MN 9/4/2012). I'm not expecting it, but if it happens then it will be possible to get at least some Criterions online for around $48 of 3.
A sale overlap is definitely a possibility after what happened during the last b2g1f sale and 50% Criterion sale. I wasn't planning on purchasing anything during the current 40% blu-ray sale, or the b2g1f Criterion blu sale, but if there is a sale overlap I will definitely put in a few orders.

Re: Barnes And Noble Coupon Thread Part 2

When the conclusion of the recent B2G1F sale overlapped with the start of the Criterion 50% off sale, it took about 1.5 hours before all of the Criterion and Eclipse prices were gradually updated to show the 50% discounts. Then for another 2 hours both sales were simultaneously live. Great prices while they lasted.

Re: Barnes And Noble Coupon Thread Part 2

Bought the Cream Live at RAH Blu for $9.40 all in today. Used the 10% member discount and the 20% off member coupon. I used one of my $10 for $5 gift certs from the mygiftwand deal a few weeks back, so it effectively cost me slightly ~$5. It's $18 at Amazon after tax. I'm a happy camper.

I might also buy the John Mayall's 70th Birthday Concert BR. That would work out to $8 all in and that's before the 50% discount that my mygiftwand gift card gives me.

I'm also tempted to get the Dylan Other Side of the Mirror Blu.

Nice sale. I find I can usually get MUCH better deals at B&N than elsewhere thanks to the extreme couponing that Laser enables.

THANKS LASER!

If it goes, we are looking at netting $40 titles for $16 + tax.

$40(.60) = $24
$24(2) = $48
$48/3 = $16

Not....too...shabby.

Cool, thanks. I think I might pass on High and Low for now. That's the only one of the four I've already seen and I have the dvd.

Sale is supposed to go live at 12AM. So far I'm not seeing anything qualifying in my cart. I have 7 different Criterion blu-ray titles.

Really? I wouldn't think this would go live until midnight. Can you say what combos they are using?

Most of them are since I have most of the older releases I want. However when I added 39 steps in my cart it did trigger the discount. However already have that one. Free title is Sommarlek. So I must have 2 qualifying titles in my cart out of the seven at the moment.

Okay the b2g1f sale banner is now up in the Criterion section. Still nothing out of the original 7 titles in my cart showing up with a discount.

It seems the original list has not grown so far...last time it took about 15 minutes for the entire catalog to go live.
