Re: Barnes And Noble Coupon Thread Part 2
I'm still waiting for them to ship one of my "free" titles from the last sale back in January. The order is still open and listed as processing- and they continue to offer the title (Cat People Bd) on the website with a "usually ships in 24 hours" tag.
Tried calling the Indian phone back customer service, but got nowhere with them. Heard about this happening with other people, getting the free title cancelled after you already paid for the other two, so I can't say I'm very surprised.
The B2G1 sale can be a great deal with the right titles, but not when you have to gamble that B&N won't pull a fast one and screw you out of it.

Doesn't seem like there is much demand for these so I'm going to put some up for grabs.

Re: Barnes And Noble Coupon Thread Part 2
I would like to bring up an B & N membership issue raised previously. Is the membership worth it and without the coupons is it worth it to continue to be a customer? After I renewed my membership in store, I stopped getting coupons. After calling customer service and getting the usual response that coupon receiptants are randomly selected, I got the representative to contact membership servicee to get me back on the list (you can not contact them directly). It lasted six months and now it happened again. My call to customer service got the same "half hearted " response. I did not receive the last two email coupons.
So I would like to read comments not only about other individuals having similar coupon problems (and how it was handled) but without coupons it membership justified or even if it is worth to continue to be a B & N customer.

1. The 10% discount isn't at their web site any longer. You used to get 10% off their web price, but now you get the same discount with or without the card.
2. Everyone gets free shipping on $25+ orders, so the card's free shipping isn't that great. The only time it's good is when you have a lot of coupons and can use one coupon per item by ordering each item separately.
3. B&N is making a huge mistake by alienating the few loyal people who still buy their card when they cut off e-mail coupons. I found this site because they cut me off last October. Nothing I've done has either turned coupons back on, or gotten them to come to a new e-mail address. I still get the 20% off one item coupons, which is a decent discount, but you only get about 12 per year (two coupons every other month or so), so is that worth the $25 cost to be a member?
4. You get 10% off in the store, but it's off the full list price of items which are priced so retailers can offer 30-40% discounts, so it's not a good deal. Combining the 10% off with a 15 or 20% off coupon is closer to the online price, but the coupon is for only one item. I do not understand why B&N can't make store prices more realistic. It's not like they're selling much inventory at full price. They would make less per item, but sell a lot more items.
5. Coupons are off one item now. In the past, I would use the same coupon at two stores and online, which was a better savings than just using it once.
I reluctantly renewed my card this year, but I don't know if I will in the future.
