Has anybody else gotten the need to authorize order email from bn.com.

I get these all the time. You should have the option to respond to the email. Just email back and tell them you ordered the item

This is from the BN membership FAQ. It's a little dishonest to do, but obviously within their terms:

What if I join now but decide later that I no longer want to be a Member? Can I get a refund?

If you purchased your Membership at a Barnes & Noble bookstore, you may cancel the Membership at any store within 30 days of the purchase date for a full refund with the original receipt. If you purchased your Membership online at www.bn.com, you may contact the Member Service Center at 1-866-238-READ within 30 days of the purchase date for a full refund.

After 30 days, Membership fees are non-refundable. Partial refunds of the Membership fee are not available.

Annnnnd Seinfeld: The Complete Series is mine for $109 shipped. Despite trying to save for our wedding, my fiancee says I would be crazy to pass it up.

Thank you, kenbenobi, for posting the coupon!

Phone order?

The post I saw didn't have any details. I haven't tried it yet, but I found this info hiding in their FAQ about purchasing gift cards. It talks about ordering online but paying by phone as well as ordering by phone without an online account. Not sure if it would work for ordering other products too...

"To order by phone, simply click the "Pay by Phone" button at the bottom of the Payment page. You may pay by phone for all items in your Cart. To use this method, please wait until you've received the confirmation email stating that your order has been received. Then, just call us at 1-800-THE-BOOK (1-800-843-2665): Monday-Friday 8 a.m.-11 p.m. ET, Saturday-Sunday (and Holidays) 9 a.m.- 5:30 p.m. ET. Customers outside the U.S., please call 201-272-3651. If we do not receive payment information within 7 days of receiving your order, it will be automatically canceled from our system.

If you do not wish to establish an account on our web site, we can still take your order over the phone. Just call us at 1-800-THE-BOOK (1-800-843-2665): Monday-Friday 8 a.m. to 11 p.m. ET, Saturday-Sunday (and Holidays) 9 a.m.- 5:30 p.m. ET. Customers outside the U.S., please call 201-272-3651. Please have your credit card ready, as well as an email address where we may contact you."

Has anyone tried using the 50%-off in-store coupon with a pre-order of a title with release date after the coupon expiration date (11/12)?

TexasDVDer, yes a Mastercard Debit does work. I ordered a Mastercard debit (gift) card from Washington Mutual specifically for the B&N 50% off coupon deal. It was a tough decision (between Seinfeld, Gilmore Girls, King of Queens and The O.C.) but I ended up ordering The O.C. - The Complete Series for $64.86. Not bad!

Finally pulled the trigger on Ford at Fox for $109.13. Not quite the jaw-dropping $95 it would have been a week or so ago, but still a pretty amazing deal...

Don't feel bad. I joined last January & still didn't get an in-store 50% off coupon.

Here's another reason not to feel bad. I used my 50% off in-store coupon yesterday, and it cost me MORE than it would have to open a new account and order online. I couldn't believe it!

I ordered Dressing a Galaxy, which is an expensive Star Wars book. Hardcover books are always 20% off for members. The book is $295. The member discount is $59. The online coupon discount is $147.50. The in-store coupon discount is only $118. My friend ordered his online for $88.50 + tax, whereas I paid $118 + tax in store. So I paid over $30 more, by using the in-store coupon. I know for most items, purchasing in-store would be cheaper than opening a new account, but in my case it was not. Plus I lost out on the 4% back from ********. I wish I had thunk that through beforehand... I could go back to the store and cancel it and re-order online, but I don't want to go through the hassle.

Man, I ordered mine 2 weeks before you and yours shipped out first! I guess B&N doesn't ship in order...

I totally forgot about the 4%, doh!

I bought X-Files, already have Seinfeld. Anyone have any other high price/high discount items to suggest, worth getting a 2nd membership for?

My X-Files Complete set is still showing a Dec 6 estimated ship date. I hope B&N ships it sooner as I'm in an X-Files marathon mood
