I know everyone is going to hate me for saying this, but I will be glad when this 50% sale is over. I have used mine and it appears to me that B&N is holding prices up due to this sale.

Most of their TV titles are 30% off when they come out each week. There are only a few right now. I bet after the sale, we see some price drops.

I agree. The only price I've seen go back up is X-Files, which rose back to 15% (from 10%), most likely due to its sales rank going back up... Everyone is after Seinfeld, so that rank isn't likely to go back up anytime soon...

I don't get it. I paid for my membership, but where is my membership number? Their E-mail only contains the order details. Thanks.

Click the link for your account at the top of the B&N web site. The B&N membership number should be listed on the page. If you purchase the membership online it should automatically enter the membership number and information into your account so you can immediately use it on a online purchase. They will send you a membership card in the mail later.

Got the number, however the coupon is no go. Suggestions?

You're using a mastercard to pay, right?

Are you using a Master card? If so enter the card information before entering the coupon.

i certainly didn't mean to make a big deal about it. i was just stating my experience. in store it took off 10 and then 50 %. they didn't do an override...they used the coupon code.

hell i wish kenbenobi was right...i certainly would rather have had the bigger discount !!

Wow, great deal. Even with the $25 membership cost, and sales tax, I got Stargate SG1 Complete Series for around $153 total! That's over $30 less than at DeepDiscount with the 20% off sale! And, I can get a refund on the membership if I cancel within 30 days! Freakin Sweet!

Whoa, I didn't know you could cancel the membership and get a refund. Since I joined twice, I'll do just that on the second account, if that's actually true.

Before you do that, I read someone say on another forum that you can actually use the coupon 3 times with each membership, in-store, online, and...a phone order. No idea if this is true but since I don't remember reading it here I thought I'd throw it in the ring.

I might have to take up membership considering this 50% off offer, but can someone confirm that you can only use a Mastercard for the code to work? Is the code still valid with Visa also and is there any restrictions on not living in USA. Will they still give me the discount if I'm living in Australia?

You must use Mastercard, it won't work with any other cards. And you can order from Australia, you'll just get charged more shipping (7.49 + 0.99 per DVD).

The other codes are for anything. Only the 50% off code is restricted to Mastercard...

I have never heard of doing a phone order with B&N. So they just called customer service and placed an order over the phone?

Have you confirmed this? If you CAN cancel, I'll be opening another two accounts before this this is over (and canceling both)...

For those that haven't been reading this thread regularly since this sale started, you can fully pay with a gift card if you have one, but your default method of payment must be a Mastercard, even if you don't actually pay with the Mastercard...

I never got an email like that, but I never bought an item that expensive. Wow, that set looks HUGE!!! I find it interesting that some Bond movies are in there (5 I believe) but not all (at least, if the list of movies includes at B&N is accurate)

Great deal. My mom already has a membership, so it cost $108 shipped for the Seinfeld set.

If I join a second time with a second e-mail address, can I use the same MasterCard for my order or will it be flagged?

No, it's fine to pay with the same MC.

Thanks Brent! Now I need to see if I can resist buying the X-Files set for just one more day...
