So are there any other good B&N coupons right now (not necessarily 50% off). I actually need to order a few books for Christmas (I know blasphemy getting books).

Here's the current list of coupons. There are several 25% codes right now which is better than the usual 10% to 15% ones that are usually around.

Agreed. I didn't even know about it till it was mentioned in another thread.

OK, as suspected the coupon ended and there have been several price drops.

I thought about posting it in the main forum, but I figured it belonged in here. Also, if another site like FW stole it, it could be abused and canceled before it's expiration. I'm very glad this coupon lasted its full run. As it is, the prices jumped from 30% off to only 10% off because of the massive orders B&N was getting. The high ticket items all dropped into the top 20 sales rank. So this apparently got more than enough attention in this thread.

Personally, if I see a thread that is consistently at the top of the thread list, and it isn't a sticky, I read the last page to see what's going on. This thread was near the top for 3 straight weeks, so it was pretty obvious something big was happening...

I think I agree with your reasoning. But then, I live on the forum so I didn't miss the deal like most members probably did.

kenbenobi, I agree with your reasoning too, especially about the possible FW effect. I'll thank you again because we were able to get a really cool robotics set for a Christmas gift that we wouldn't have otherwise bought due to the normal cost. Now it's not even on the website so we were fortunate to get it when we did.

I didn't even have a B&N account, but I kept seeing this thread at the top of the forum and finally my curiosity got to me and I checked it out--- very glad that I did! THANKS!

Seriously, B&N need to employ better packers. Both the new X-files dvd set and the Beatles 16 cd set I ordered arrived damaged.

What kind of damage did the Beatles set suffer?

The set is in a white cardboard box, which was put in a B&N brown cardboard box for shipping. Both boxes were ripped pretty good, and the wooden case that holds the 16 cd's was scuffed where a corner came out of the boxes. The white box obviously bounced around a lot, as it is much smaller than the brown box (and the empty space was barely filled). It's supposed to be a present, so now I have to mess around with a return. Bastids!!

You could probably do a return in store for the x files as they probably have stock of that. I dont know about the other one. call your local stores.

My James Bond Ultimate Collection came pretty heavily damaged. Does anyone have actual experience exchanging in store? I see on the website that you can RETURN in-store, but it doesn't mention exchanging there.

I exchanged a smaller bond set 6 months ago for another one in store. No problems if they have it in stock.

I did an in store exchange last year with no problems with one of the James Bond sets. They even let me open the new set to inspect it for any defects or damage before I left the store. I wanted to be sure I didn't have any missing or duplicate discs, and all the correct booklets.

Members using one of the 25% off coupons the ABC series being offered this week
on sale at Best Buy and other places are cheapest at B&N.
These are Ugly Betty Season 1, Brothers and Sisters Season 1, Desperate
Housewives Season 3, and Grey's Anatomy Season 3. With the coupon plus tax they are $23.39 plus tax.
Too bad season 3 of Lost is not included.

hey etcl, where about overseas are you? I have heard of a number of people outside the US buying american TV shows on DVD from retailers in the USA. Is it cheaper to do so? I imagine the shipping and import tax must be high. If you are in the United Kingdom, wouldn't it be cheaper to buy from www.amazon.co.uk?

hiya

me located in Singapore

it is much cheaper to import in than to purchase from the B&M stores here.

it used to be much cheaper before Amazon raised their shipping rates.

now it is still cheaper but i must consolidate my orders to lower the shipping cost

there is no import tax unless i spent above a certain amount and i make sure i dont hit that amount
