Re: DVDs at Ross - Dress for Less!

Just picked up The Wizard Of Oz 3-disc Collector's Edition for $6.99, which really surprised me because my past experience has been that our local (Honolulu) Ross stores don't usually get the "good" DVDs. Even a blind squirrel finds an acorn once in a while, I guess...

just picked up the Casablanca Ultimate Box Set for $6.99!! WOW!!

I already have the 2 disc edition.. but for the 3rd disc and all the other stuff, this is was a great find.

(though I still think those dining cards are just... well, silly.. is anybody actually going to use these?)

Re: DVDs at Ross - Dress for Less!

I found a couple BDs for $6.99:

-The Beauty of Snakes
-The World's Biggest and Baddest Bugs

I passed on both of them, but I sorta wish I had at least bought the one about bugs.

Re: DVDs at Ross - Dress for Less!

Grabbed the only copy of the Notebook limited edition box at the Santa Rosa, CA Ross store. It was opened but complete with no price tag. Gave it to me for 1.99

Found a copy of "Fat Albert's Greatest Hits: The Ultimate Collection" 4-disc collection for $5.99. It was the only copy in the store. I also saw some of those "Classic Albums" dvds for $4.99, I think.

I have never found the Casablanca box. But I did find Dreamgirls box for the first time yesterday. I was able to find Wizard of Oz box many months ago at TJ Maxx.

Re: DVDs at Ross - Dress for Less!

Ross is like a Wal-Mart mated with a thrift store and gave birth and they named it Ross. The Santa Rosa store has gems from time to time but they don't seem to get new stock very often. I hit it about once a month.

Re: DVDs at Ross - Dress for Less!

About 3 weeks ago, my Ross was getting the sets almost daily, though I never found Wizard of Oz. Now it seems like they're getting nothing.

All this stuff was bought off within a week of showing up at the stores near me. Nothing is left of this largess.

Re: DVDs at Ross - Dress for Less!

Why would they make a "full screen" collector's edition of Jaws??? Anyone who'd choose that wouldn't care about all the extra stuff.

Good for you, Moo! I'm totally jealous.

I've recently been on a Judy Garland "discovery" lately and haven't had any luck finding anything in the Ross/Marshalls stores. Ben-Hur, Wizard of Oz...my luck's just not as good as it used to be.

Re: DVDs at Ross - Dress for Less!

Saw a History channel show on The Real 300 or something along those lines for $3.99. Almost bit but I have been buying too much stuff lately.

Also seems that no one wants the History/nature blurays at my Ross, all marked down to $4.99 but still they sit there.
