Re: DVDs at Ross - Dress for Less!

Stopped at my Ross today and all I really found was the Notebook and the Dreamgirls box sets. Really was hoping to find the Casablanca, if anyone happens across an extra they should PM me.

Re: DVDs at Ross - Dress for Less!

I found Casablanca, Dreamgirls, and Notebook today. I had Casablanca in my hand and was going to buy it, but the line, good God. I wasn't about to wait in that line for this one thing. I would like to know an actual answer as to why it takes forever to check out if you get stuck in a line in this store. It has always been that way, and it is by far worse than at any other retail store I've ever been to. I waited for a while and it looked like they had to scan like a specific second UPC code in this binder type thing in addition to the actual UPC on the item itself. It is very weird but I have no clue what the deal is.

Stopped in after a quick grocery run, and they had restocked. Found and bought the 300 set, yet still no joy for Casablanca. If anyone is looking for an exchange, fire me a message.

I asked a female friend who shops there that very question. Her answer was that Ross (& apparently their customers) feel the clothing prices are so discounted that people will put up with the wait. Apparently they're correct.

Found Casablanca, 300, Dreamgirls and 2 different Super Friends set. Only one of each though and thankfully there were no big lines. Also found this TMNT set

http://www.amazon.com/Teenage-Mutant...7523627&sr=1-3

It has all 4 movies but didn't pick it up since the back has a huge slash from the UPC down to the bottom of the cover. That one was for $7.99

I believe the reason some of these ninja turtles sets are on closeout is because warner recently re-released the same set as part of thier "4 film favorites" collection, all 4 movies on 2 flippers

Re: DVDs at Ross - Dress for Less!

300 is the big DVD set, right? I am also wondering what versions of (I can't remember if it was one or both of these) Wizard of Oz and Gone with the Wind are people finding? If I am getting these two finds confused with TJ Maxx, I'm sorry. Haha. There are just too many deals floating around, I'm having a hard time getting it all straight.

Is it the ultimate collection of the Matrix, or is it just the two pack. I may be interested if it is the ultimate collection. There has been several Notebooks at the stores near me.

Re: DVDs at Ross - Dress for Less!

FYI checked several northern Austin, TX locations (Burnet, Braker) - no Casablanca, no Matrix, no Notebook, no nothing. Did see a Dreamgirls delux set ($6.99) at both locations but come on...

Re: DVDs at Ross - Dress for Less!

Made the South Bay circuit yesterday and picked up everything I wanted/needed. The Ross at Sunnyvale had quite a few collector sets, some unfortunately already opened and the Ross at Santa Clara on Homestead Rd was fully stocked before I loaded up there:

Ultimate Matrix
Ron Howard Collection
JFK 2 Disk
The Notebook collectors edition (one left open)
Fall of the Roman Empire (3 disk)
Casablanca Ultimate edition
How the West was Won (ultimate edition)

No sign of the Nightmare on Elm Street collection. I also noted and picked up several copies of Hawaii with Julie Andrews and Max von Sydow for $4.99. I purchased them for gifts, but noted they have a decent resale value on Amazon. Also picked up Jet Li's Fearless Directors cut and DareDevil 2 Disk (full screen) for 4.99. Most of the Bay area stores are stripped clean, but those two were stocked.

They also some great deals for kids, I picked up Dinotopia: Quest for the Ruby Sunstone, Dino Squad: Go Dino and Krypto the Superdog: Cosmic Canine. South Bay was pretty loaded with the Justice league and Batman episodes, but I already have the complete collections. I did pick up a couple Super Friends Vol 2 collections for Birthday gifts for the coming year.

Lots of Blu Ray there as well, I picked up The Beauty of Snakes and Africa Elephant Kingdom for $4.99. Passed on Season 3 of the Deadliest Catch in Blu Ray.

Looks like I'm out of the Ross hunt for until the next great deals are posted. San Carlos, Redwood City and Mountain View Ross's were all stripped of anything worthwhile. Go south young man, go south.
