Re: DVDs at Ross - Dress for Less!

I need to find a different Ross. If the Wiz is the big box set, I'd like that for $6.99, & wouldn't mind the Casablanca for $6.99 either.

Anyone care to share any successful strategies (day, time, etc) for success at Ross? I've never found jack at the one by me.

Same thing here. Nothing good has ever been in the one here.

I assume that the Nightmare collection is this one:
http://www.amazon.com/Nightmare-Elm-...7329405&sr=1-4

and not this one:
http://www.amazon.com/Nightmare-Stre...9&sr=1-1-spell

Re: DVDs at Ross - Dress for Less!

Extremely happy with my haul today

300: Limited Collectors Edition-- $6.99
The Nightmare On Elm Street Collection-- $9.99

Child's Play 3-- $2.99
Carlito's Way: Ulimate Edition-- $4.99

Both the 300 and NOES sets are in fantastic shape. The particular Ross store I went to pretty much did the bare minimum when it came to slashing the UPC on 300 (barely went through the paper backing that was stuck on it) and NOES (had a hairline cut on 1-2 movies, barely noticeable)

Re: DVDs at Ross - Dress for Less!

I actually found Nightmare (bought) & Notebook (passed) & Dreamgirls box ($6.99 also passed) & "only" waited about 10 minutes to pay. i asked the clerk if there was an ideal day to check for dvd's, & she said they put them out everyday (sigh)..................

Nice. I would like to find this as well as Casablanca. I don't have a Ross in my state so I'm hoping they show at Marshall's or TJ Maxx.

Re: DVDs at Ross - Dress for Less!

Went looking for Casablanca at two stores here with no luck. They did have The Pebbles and Bam Bam Show Complete Series for $3.99, which I was going to buy. But then I looked at the lines and decided that I really didn't want it that badly.

Re: DVDs at Ross - Dress for Less!

Just picked up the Ultimate Matrix Collection for $9.99 and The All-New Superfriends Hour, Season 1, Volume 2 for $3.99!

Didn't see Casablanca or Nightmare Collection, but they did have several Notebook box sets and a single Ron Howard collection.

Thanks for the heads up on these great bargains!

North Bay. Went to the Ross store in San Rafael and the one in Novato. The sets I found were at the Novato store, San Rafael didn't have either.

I was able to find Casablanca and The Elm Street collection. Pretty sweet. I also saw the big set of The Notebook.

Re: DVDs at Ross - Dress for Less!

I picked up a Casablanca UCE even though I already own it - bought a copy when Buy.com had it for $14.99 and didn't think I was going to do better.... One of those local weirdo oddball/fanatics was there looking at it and grumbling about how they already released the same time 4 years ago while throwing in a bunch of profanities. He kept putting it down and picking it back up - I made up his mind for him None of the other boxsets there or the other Ross I visited tho.

Re: DVDs at Ross - Dress for Less!

Found the Notebook which I grabbed for my girlfriend. Of course anything I would want for myself was no where to be seen.

Re: DVDs at Ross - Dress for Less!

Saw at my local Ross (but didn't buy):

Nightmare Collection (x1)
The Notebook Collector's Box Set (x3)
White Noise 2: The Light
The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor (both single-disc and 2-disc SE)
300 (single-disc)
The Dark Knight (bilingual Canadian single-disc)
The Lord of the Rings: Return of the King Fullscreen (Alliance Canadian release)

Also saw lots of Universal's Peter Pan (only foolscreen) and The Golden Compass (mixture of widescreen and fullscreen U.S. editions).

Re: DVDs at Ross - Dress for Less!

Picked up the Notebook box (for the wife) and the 300 Box today!!!

Was the last one and it pissed off this guy who worded their because he wanted it.

Also noticed that a lot of DVDs had been marked down to $2.99 and all the bluray TV shows had been marked down to $4.99.

Lots of cheapie Kung Fu sets.

What TV shows are you talking about? Can you list the titles you saw?

Bummer. Several copies of The Notebook, not a single Casablanca here.

They were 50ish minute Animal planet or History planet shows.

Not exact titles but the ones I remember are something like:
The Beauty of Snakes
Elephant Something Or Other
Gettysburg Battle and Address
