Yes, they will screw you.

Go in and tak to someone else who might know better. On one occass
ion, I came in around 10pm the week after the set was released (don't even remember what it was, maybe SCTV vol 1) and they could find no evidence of it being ordered, other than the entry in my account. So, they wrote down the info and promised to have the order placed by the manager or whoever the next day. I went back on my own two weeks later and there it was, sitting in the drawer all ready to be picked up with no hassle.

Good deal got better

I pre-ordered the Looney Tunes Golden Collection Vol. 2 (4-disc) for $29.99 way back when I first saw it was mispriced. The cashier wouldn't allow me to pay in full so I paid the maximum amount, $28.99, leaving $1 left to pay when the item came in. When the release date came and went for Looney Tunes I stopped by BBV to see if they had my set -- they didn't. Apparantly someone forgot to order it. So, I was told that they would send out the order in the morning and it would take two weeks for it to arrive. I called BBV about 10 days later to see what the status was on my order -- they forgot to order it AGAIN!!! So, this time I was assured that it would get ordered AND they would take 50% off of the price. So, I went in today to BBV and got Looney Tunes Golden Collection Vol. 2 (4-disc) and they reimbursed me with $14 cash.

Bottom line: I paid $15 for Looney Tunes Golden Collection Vol. 2 (4-disc). Thanks to the OP on this one!!!

go into the store and make sure that they ordered it cuz a lot of times they don't do it. Try to go in before 5 PM on a weekday cuz that's when they can order it. My guess is that it's 5 PM EST.

i called them last week and they said that they hadn't ever ordered it the first time so they told me they would order it, but it may take up to 6 weeks to get here. there are many times that i seriously wonder if blockbuster is worth the hassle.

Matrix Collection WITH the Neo Bust is $109.99 at Blockbuster.com (or the picture associated with the set is posted incorrectly). The NON-Bust version does not appear to be available on the website.

Does BBV have Disney Treasures Chronological Donald for special order in store? If so, what the part number and what the price is? Thanks!

From page 4:

874346 Chronological Donald

Tomorrowland was not available when I tried to get it a few weeks ago along with the other three, so this one might be gone, also.

Which store in NYC lets you preorder? The ones I've gone to (Broadway and 9th, 3rd and 14th) always shut me down.

I placed an order for Chronological Donald, Mickey Mouse In Living Color Vol. 2 and On the Front Lines about 3 weeks ago and to date I have heard nothing from Blockbuster. I called once to check status and the only answer I got was "I dont see them here so they must not be in yet" I have feeling I am never going to see these DVDs. I will stop by one night this week and see if I can get a bettwer answer.

I asked about these titles last week at a local BBV and was told they are no longer available. That was after they called their distributor to verify price and availability.

Interesting story ...

I went into Blockbuster today to pre-order the Ultimate Matrix Collection. This is the same Blockbuster, where I pre-ordered Smallville Season 3 for $29.99 and paid in full.

The employee would NOT allow me to pay in full, they would only take $5 + tax. When another employee asked why, she stated that they had taken a paid-in-full pre-order for Smallville Season 3 and had lost $30 on it when it was picked up because Blockbuster's cost was $50-something.

She obviously did not remember me, because I was the one who pre-ordered from her AND had picked it up from her.

... time to find another Blockbuster.

But, paid-in-full or a $5 deposit, they are legally just as much on the hook to honor the originally agreed upon price. I think at least BBV employee has described the "delivery" process and it sounded like their computer system would do the right thing if you had paid all but $1 or any other amount.

flix1,

I just saw another thread for South Park Season 1 through 5 pre-order for $26.99 at BBV. Can you add this to the main list? The other thread can be located at:

http://www.dvdtalk.com/forum/showthread.php?t=401050

What a great deal!!! I hope I can pre-order before the price rockets. I missed out on the Friday the 13th set, but I hope not this one.

I'm not so sure that keeping a list is a good idea. It seemed like a lot of titles, besides SCTV, were shutdown REAL QUICK once they were posted to the list in the thread. Probably coincidence, since SCTV wasn't shut down, but you never know...

$5 Deposit at BBV receipt?

I put a deposit at BBV, $5, only got the $5 charge on my gift card, and a receit saying I put $5 down on the DVD. Could anyone please tell me is I should have gotten a copy of the Special Order form, or another receipt telling me how much is left to pay for the DVD? Thanks!

That is all they normally give you -- a receipt showing how much you paid. The store computer keeps track of how much you owe, but with this South Park set it is sounding like everyone who pre-ordered at the low price is going to get their money back (either deposit or paid in full).

Anyone know if the SKU numbers are the same in Canada Blockbuster's as they are in the States? Just wondering if us Canucks can take advantage of any of these deals as well.
