True that the FF set isn't a gigantic discount, but it's an awfully good price! Even a "fair" price is rare at Blockbuster, so I'd be interested in hearing more like this one. Some of us have big credits to burn from the Trade-In free-for-all a while back. I've been starting to burn it on non-bargain new releases (Stripes, Casino SE), but mostly I've been sitting on my credit and waiting for something like this. Thanks, whotony!

I checked on the Cheers and Frasier season package sets (seven seasons packaged together in one unit)...they are 26.99 each. I don't have part numbers, though, but I think I will be visiting my local Blockbuster soon to special order these.

I doubt I'll get this one to fly by the BB rader. Would be cool to have the Frasier season sets.

Any chance SCTV #4 will see pricing like the previous 3 sets?

It's set for release 9/13/2005

they are coming out in Sept. And considering a good number of people had success at getting five seasons of South Park for 26.99, I wouldn't see why this would be a problem, at least in the stores that have been successful for posters in the past.

I never found a good price on set three through BBV. I did pick it up at the infamous DDDVD sale recently, though.

thanks for the information, whotony. I actually got this to work...at least for now.

I have a question for whotony and/or calhoun: I am currently in California visiting family. I paid in full for the preorder of Cheers and Frasier. By the time they are released, I will be back in NY. So my question is this: can someone else pick up the DVDs even though I paid for it and my name is on the receipt?

I am the only authorized user on my account. If I add the person to my account as an authorized user, would that help? Thanks.

probably should only need to show the receipt to pick them up but an over zealous csr may not let it happen.

I don't see a reason why they would be over zealous to check to see if the person doing the buying is on the acct. It's not like a rental where the store will end up liable if they rent to somebody not on the account. It's paid for, so I would assume they wouldn't care too much. You might request them to put a warning on your account, which would stay on there and show up any time somebody pulls up the account, stating that you authorize somebody else to pick up the DVDs for you in Sept to avoid any issues, though.

Yes, that's not a problem. However, make sure that the person picking up the item has your account number so the cashier can see on his computer that the item has been paid in full.

Thanks to whotony and calhoun07 for the info on the Frasier and Cheers sets. I preodered mine today. Shipping date is currently listed as 09/13 in the BBV computers, and as of today, still $26.99 each.

I preordered mine Saturday and checked my credit card statement and they have charged me for one of each sets, which is what I ordered. I got a call today from a csr at the BBV I ordered them from and she asked me if I still wanted to order them and of course I said yes. Everything seems to be going good so far I guess.

Tried to place a pre-order on Sunday, but was told they were not yet available for pre-order (assuming they just didnt know how to do it). Stopped at another store last night, was able to pre-order and pay in full. Is it best to place another order at another store to try to up my chances of getting this in case orders start getting cancelled?

Hi all--can anyone recommend a store in the San Jose, CA area that will actually place the order for Frasier and Cheers? I tried and failed at the store I used to use downtown...the new manager was not helpful.
