Re: Ollie's Bargain Outlet

My Ollies has barely restocked their trades section. They’ve also reorganized in one of the most moronic way possible

On the other hand, they have restocked the comic section with 10 packs for $5.99. They have 3 different types of 10 packs: a Marvel one, a DC one with recent stuff, and a mixed pack that includes stuff from different companies

Re: Ollie's Bargain Outlet

It was $10. First thing I grabbed. I only need the silver age now, which I think people saw at Ollie's last summer and fall.

a couple of other pics of the shelves. to the left of the 100 super villians book was some sort of boxed set omnibus. I don't remember the title, and I wonder if I should have taken a closer look. Can anyone identify it?

Re: Ollie's Bargain Outlet

Yeah, that's a good price. I passed on it at Costco @ $20, but I'd definitely grab it if I ever saw it for $10.

Went to the Woonsocket store, saw nothing of interest in the comic section, bought junk food and left.

Haha. I ended up with a bag of Hershey's snack mix and a Reese's pretzel cup.

Batman Adventures was great. It was like getting an extra episode every month. This Ollie's was very far away and it was new. Opened in May, I think.

I'll remind everyone starting tomorrow through July 3rd, Ollie's is running 15% off everything in the store. So stock up now on trades and such.

Unfortunately the Woonsocket store hasn’t received a new shipment of trades in months. It’s been a couple of weeks since I was last there, I suppose I’ll recheck.

Re: Ollie's Bargain Outlet

The one location I visited had a lot of early Rebirth trades from DC - Supergirl Vol.1, Batgirl Vol. 1, Suicide Squad Vol. 4, Justice League Vol. 6, etc.

I went back to Ollie's. picked up the Rebirth Deluxe edition Flash volume 1, the two Batman Adventures trades that have been spotted, Justice League the Silver Age Volume 2 (Softcover) and the Wake, a vertigo book by Snyder and Murphy.

Also, went to woonsocket, it was a bust.

Really not much at the Woonsocket store, it’s only a ~20min drive for me, the Worcester store is a little further, I suppose I’ll try it next.

Re: Ollie's Bargain Outlet

I just snagged Watchmen: Noir Edition for $7.99. Already owned the Absolute edition, but I'm sure seeing it in black-and-white will be interesting.

Woonsocket still has nothing really- only thing interesting was Fable Vol 1 hardcover. I passed on it.

Re: Ollie's Bargain Outlet

Just hit the motherload of DC trades at an Ollies. They had Batman, Superman, Green Lantern, Red Hood, Suicide Squad, Flash, Deathstroke, Batgirl, Aquaman, and more early Rebirth trades than I could count. Also a Batman Manga book from Japan.

Probably happiest finding the Super Powers by Jack Kirby trade. Only saw a couple of new hardcovers - The Dark Knight Returns: The Last Crusade and Injustice 2: Volume 1.

The only problem comes about from finding trades I bought upon release back in the day, now all the way down to $3.99.

Re: Ollie's Bargain Outlet

nice find. can I ask what region of the country? south? midwest? northeast? midatlantic?

I'm tempted to go. just based on the super powers trade and maybe the last crusade.

Dang, wish i had an ollies close by but saw a map and they most in mid west or south. guess they dont expand to the east or west for any reason. seen videos on youtube showing all the trades they get anytime since i guess they get mass produced like everything else and dont sell as much for any reason. i know certain ones i wanna get but no promise it be at those stores anytime. so for now just gotta check comic shops close by anytime.

I've been surprised how willing DC and Marvel have been dumping new trades at Ollies in mass quantities. It's great for comic book readers but it's not something every company/industry would do. Some companies would pulp them before losing so much money on their back stock.

Though Marvel seems to be dumping much less popular and/or desirable books, notice how Spider-Man books almost never show up at Ollies. DC is holding very little back by comparison.
