Re: Ollie's Bargain Outlet

Stopped in the other day and picked these up. I didn't realize the Deadpool omni was $25 until I saw the post above. I just put shit in the cart.
Stocked up on k-cups too.
I should've taken pics of the other stuff for you. I'm probably going back in a few weeks as we're planning on being near there.

^Yes they were in the ad last week, and my store had some too. Not that many though.

Re: Ollie's Bargain Outlet

woostah had two of the deadpool hardcovers, but not beginnings or the minibus 2. Also, no Guardians omnibus. They did say they were putting out more hardcovers and trades tonight, but I don't think I can get back there tomorrow. Seemed pretty organized to their credit. They had the 12.99 Deadpool hardcover pictured above and the deadpool hardcover volume 1, I think with all the animals on it.

I finally caved and bought Age of Ultron, last one. They restocked on Batman new 52 stuff, volume 5,7, 9 and 10. Maybe I'll get back there this weekend and see if I can find the super powers.

Finally a restock at my local Ollies. For newspaper daily strip fans, I found "The James Bond Omnibus 004" for $3.99.

I read these when they came out, pretty good stories and some nice homages to the King. I'll keep an eye out for Green Arrow. Thanks!

Re: Ollie's Bargain Outlet

My Ollies keeps restocking at the slowest pace ever and even worse, they keep putting all the graphic novels in shelves facing forward, to the point that if you move any, the entire row will fall on you. Only thing I was able to get was the Amazing Spider-Man Clone Conspiracy Hardcover for $16.99 (retails for $60) and Justice League by Geoff Johns box set for $9.99 (retails for $50).

Saw the Death of Archie Collection but passed on it.

Replying to Eric F:

this was worcestor. I got to the counter with age of ultron and the cashier called for backup so he could get one, but instead I went back to the book department to get him the last one.

Get friendly with the employee stocking the book section. They might let me you examine the big pallet in the back, which is how the books are shipped to each store. That is why each location stocks the books at different rates. All depends on the employee's motivation.

interesting. The time I bought the age of ultron, another employee told me they had a bunch of hardcovers on the pallet and that they would be out the next day. Would not let me look at it though. Sure enough, I went back two days later and they had the guardians omni and the deadpool books.

Re: Ollie's Bargain Outlet

I went a couple of weeks ago, but was having problems getting pics uploaded. I went today too.
Today they had Deadpool: The Adamantium Collection $69.99. (I think they had 5 out) I had a 20% off single item reward, so used that on it.

The Adamantium and Age of Ultron say they have digital codes, but both say they are expired. I haven't tried yet, but guessing they're not going to work.

Re: Ollie's Bargain Outlet

the digital codes in giant sized x-men #1 hardcover and Avengers Vibranium collection did not work. I emailed Marvel with pictures of the codes and they used to just give it to you, but no luck on those. I'll keep an eye out for deadpool adamantium. I love those oversized edtions. Don't think I have a 20% though.

Your Ollie's is stocked.

Went looking for the Deadpool Adamantium Collection. No luck. Came back with only the Batman Snyder volume 4 in hardcover.

Re: Ollie's Bargain Outlet

Be sure to take a look at the other Ollie's book sections; earlier this year, my local Ollie's (Indiana) had The Art of Jock on their Reference shelves. I ended up buying 3 copies on multiple visits, a couple of which fell under $10 with discounts.

Regarding how the wholesale buying works: I once worked in a warehouse that primarily distributed packaged candy to area small retail shops. Once in a while, a buyer for Big Lots would come by and my boss would sell him cases of unsold product, often as low as $1 / case. I sometimes loaded pallets on the buyer's truck. Big Lots got very low-priced product and we freed up valuable space in the warehouse.

Ollie's is a lot like Big Lots used to be in its randomness and sometimes shabby displays; now Big Lots is more like other retailers, and the prices reflect that.

Re: Ollie's Bargain Outlet

Big Lots has changed in my area. Instead of looking run down and selling stuff similar to Ollies, all the Big Lots near me have been remodeled to display mostly the furniture the sell, while everything in the store, from toys to decorations is being sold at almost retail prices, like if they were a Target or Wal-Mart.

As for Ollies, check your mail or the Ollie's app as there is a 15% coupon for the entire purchase available right now.

Re: Ollie's Bargain Outlet

The only reason I really shop at Big Lots now is for closeout snacks and the $5 off $15 coupon.

If you live in New England, Ocean State Job Lot is the better store of its type. In Woonsocket, Ollie’s and Ocean State are right across the street from each other.
