I think there was also a storyline with an alternate/clone Uncle Ben?

I don't know. Let's see what the group thinks. It looks like they are popping in and out of dimensions, but their story line is intertwined with the Astonishing X-men title.

Okay. People. Decisions to be made that i will rule on tonight.

1. Does Longshot's alternate Dimension count as an alternate time line?
2. Does this X-treme X-men team count as a 616 team?
3. Does Dream, the daughter of Rachel Summers and Franklin Richards, who seemingly is only referenced in a novel and never called by the last name Summers count as a Summers? Marvel.com lists her as Summers-Richards if that sways you at all.

Mob rules here, so let me know.

Clones don't count as resurrections though. Gwen Stacy has been cloned, but the real Gwen Stacy has never come back. I don't recall Uncle Ben ever being cloned or ever appearing in anything other than some dream state.

Peter's parents actually did come back in a storyline in the early 90s. Although it was revealed in the end that they were robots, so they weren't technically resurrected either.

Oh sorry, I can't help much there. Like I said earlier in the thread, I am not a particularly big X-Men fan so my knowledge of the X-Men is very limited. The only X-Men comics I ever really cared for was Chris Claremont's first run from the late 70s through 1991.

Re: Comic/Super-Hero Sheep NOW!

I think because of the wording of the question (other than 616) Longshot is a wrong answer. The Mojoverse is a pocket reality of 616, doesn't have it's own designation, and doesn't exist in any other reality.

I think if Marvel.com lists Dream as a Summers, she is a Summers.

I need more info before deciding on whether the current X-Treme X-Men is a 616 team

Well, the question doesn't actually say it has to be a 616-based team. It just says it has to be an X-team in contemporary 616 times.

That said, it appears that the alternate Wolverine is always(?) referred to as James Howlett, so an answer of Wolverine would not match him, I say.

The Age of Apocalypse Nightcrawler is apparently a member of X-Force. There's also a different version on the X-Treme X-Men team.

The only guess I have for Cyclops is I think there's a new X-Men title that focuses on the original team from the 60's traveling to present day.

And can I just say that as someone who was introduced to comics via the X-Men and LOVED the series, but who hasn't read anything in about 6-7 years, looking this stuff up has been painful. What a bunch of horseshit the whole line has become. Even back in the mid 90's when there were about 6 or so different X-Men series, it was easy enough to keep track of all of them because they all served a purpose and fit into a greater whole more or less. Each series also had it's own history and legacy that was it's own. Now it seems like they're constantly relaunching new series and often times with recycled titles that have nothing to do with the previous series of the same title. I know this isn't a new complaint, but it seems especially ridiculous now.

Challenge: I don't think this should count either then. A Cyclops from the 616's past is neither an alternate timeline, nor from the future.

I'll take a look at what actually happened when I get back home. I just remember during either House of M or Civil War, Aunt May was on a date with Jarvis and Uncle Ben showed up.

It's not a canonical resource. In fact, it's no better than Wikipedia or Wikia. From the Marvel.com wiki:

The Marvel Universe Wiki is a dynamic, community-driven encyclopedia of all things Marvel. It's THE definitive online destination for biographies of the 9000+ characters, places, and things that inhabit the Marvel Universe! The Marvel Universe Wiki is the best online resource for Marvel info because we turned it over to the experts: you. ANY Marvel fan can contribute to Marvel.com's Marvel Universe. To find out how, read our posting and moderation guidelines and start contributing, True Believer!
There's so much confusion and conflicting information in these user-driven Wiki's for such a one-off obscure character, that IMO, you have to go back to the original source material, where it's quite clear that her last name is not clear.

Agree with all of these, including the challenge.

That was Ben from an alternate reality, not the 616 Ben.

Speaking of Aunt May and her boyfriends, she sure gets around for an elderly lady. How many romantic interests has she had since Ben died?

1. Doctor Octopus (she loved the tentacle sex)
2. Nathan Lubensky
3. Jarvis
4. Jonah Jameson Sr. (Jonah's dad, not Jonah himself thankfully)

Any others I am forgetting?

I agree with all of the above.

I haven't read the series, but are the 60's characters now an official x-team? Are they actually going out on missions and such?

Reagarding whether it's a different timeline, wouldn't they have to be from an alternate timeline because we never saw a story in the 60's where the team went to the future? In otherwords, isn't their timeline different the moment they travel to the future? When they showed up did present day Cyclops think back and remember the time when he was younger and traveled to 2013?

Btw, this is probably the nerdiest discussion I've ever been a part of.

We won't know that until they get sent back, they could easily be sent back to right when they left with a mind wipe.

That's the thing. I was going to worry about spoilers, but it's comics so it all gets rebooted anyway.

No, you aren't the only person. I mentioned earlier that she was my first thought, but I second-guessed myself because I didn't remember Peter ever really loving her. So I thought it would be considered a wrong answer. As I said, I only remembered their relationship being one-sided with Debra infatuated with Peter, but not vice versa. And as you said, with Peter trying to convince her she is insane and making her go to a psychiatrist just to protect his secret identity, he didn't really love her.

Re: Comic/Super-Hero Sheep NOW!

Stuck at work so can't type a lot but how on earth (616) could an alternate dimension not be considered to have an alternate timeline - if nothing else time there moves differently as shown by Longshot/Mojo/Spiral's ages and how events transpire there different than on 616.
