Crap. I bought a lot of BSG when Comixology ran their sale. Ah well. Such is life.

I see that the Green Lanternverse and Doctor Strange (two favorites of mine) are on sale. Any suggestions what to get?

The current Lanternverse sale is a little awkward because titles are so intermingled often launching into extended mini-event crossovers like Wraith of the First Lantern, War of the Green Lanterns, Sinestro Corps War, etc. These are well worth reading but the 'problem' with this sale is that is excludes most pre-New52 Green Lantern Corps and New52 Green Lantern. I think it's possible to enjoy the series independently but there's a lot of backstory, different viewpoint same events, etc from sister titles that are excluded here. For example, you might see tattered characters from Green Lantern Corps just pop up with pivotal information relevant to Hal Jordan's situation in core GL and even if summary information is given there's often an arch devoted to it in the sister title (missing here). There's so much continuity in these titles it's hard to recommend individual volumes.

For Green Lantern I most recommend the core Green Lantern series included here especially from Sinestro Corps War onward (Blackest Night is a near essential part of the mythos building up to War of the Green Lanterns). Ultimately War of the Green Lanterns was a little disappointing but the buildup to it was epic. I'm glad they just added the 'War of the Green Lanterns: Aftermath' volume because it was a bummer reading through the series and then having to Wikipedia the stuff from epilogue.

New52 Green Lantern series pick up immediately from pre-New52 (they basically ignore Flashpoint). Red Lanterns is probably one of the better spin offs with some existential stuff and fleshing out red lantern backstories. Green Lantern Corps is also good building on the rifts within the corps after War of the Lanterns and continuing the long standing Alpha Lantern subplot. New Guardians tends to be more scattered with members going on 'popcorn' scifi action adventures and, I felt, written a little out of character. I ended up losing interest in Lanternverse New52 after around issue 25 of each (I was reading them concurrently) because the change in creative team seemed jarring but the mythos is incredible.

Thanks for responding Undeadcow. I see what you mean - I looked up the reading order for Green Lantern and saw that there were a lot more books that weren't on sale but best read for a fuller understanding of what's going on. Haven't bought anything yet but thinking about it.

I'm guessing that 50% off code is over? Just got into Comixology today and wanted to pick up the three The Walking Dead bundles.

The code is for Marvel Max titles only (mentioned upthread), and I think expires Friday night.

Black Panther
Captain America
Spider-Woman
Daredevil
Spider-Man
Warlock
Classic X-Men
Thor
Hulk

Son of Satan is already down to $9.99.

Other random low prices on mostly recent releases:
Power Man/Iron Fist Revenge! Epic $9.99
Black Panther Epic $14.49
Defenders Epic $12.49
Machine Man Collection $12.49
Nova Classic 1 $11.99
Ms. Marvel Masterworks 2 $9.99

Comixology has not advertised the Caliber sale on the site itself. If you don't follow them on twitter, you wouldn't find out about a lot of sales.

Wow that Daredevil sale is pretty fantastic. I already own that Bendis and the Frank Miller runs and I'm tempted. You could argue that those are the top two Daredevil runs ever (I'd put Brubaker's follow up run and Waid's recent run up there as well)

I have the Miller run in floppy, TPB, and Omni, and I'm a little temped myself. I've never read Bendis, though.

How is Rachel Rising? The bundle is also on sale even cheaper than the individual collections, which is usually not the case.

I've heard nothing but good things about it. Haven't read it myself though.

Re: Digital Comic Book Discussion and Deals (Comixology, etc)

I bought the first issue digitally and liked it enough to get the physical omnibus, but haven't read that. Now I kind of wish I'd gotten it digitally for the convenience.

Re: Digital Comic Book Discussion and Deals (Comixology, etc)

I read the first couple issues of Rachel Rising and liked it enough to keep buying the issues as they went on sale regularly, but haven't read more yet. Maybe next October.

I paid 40-some for the non-digital, so I say yes.

The Dynamite store website was hacked and passwords and CC information may have been compromised. Sounds like carelessness on their account, storing all the information on the same server, but can't tell for sure.

In any case, worth taking care of if you ever used the site.

Been binge reading Rachel Rising and it is pretty fantastic. The sale is over but the bundle is still the same price...

Chew Sale. Great time to get caught up. The series is ending with issue 60. Aftershock sale, though the comics are $1.99 instead of the usual .99. You could try the first issues, some real good series.

My hard line in the sand is a buck an issue tops; via digital, bargain bin, or collection. If Comixology ever moves to $1.99 minimum sale pricing, then I'd stick to the freebies and my existing collection.

Same here. $1.99 seems an odd price for a sale, especially when they don't offer their books DRM-free and every other company sells it at $0.99 during sales. Will be passing on this one.

Also, strange that they put a Chew sale now instead of waiting two more issues for the series to end. Oh well..
