Re: Comic Conventions

Anyone ever heard of Creep IE Con? It's in Ontario, CA

https://creepiecon.com/#guests

Anyway, their convention is in 2 weeks and they announced the guest list. It's a pretty decent list.

Not sure if I'm going to go. But, if I did I would be interested in Tobin Bell and Barbara Crampton. Bell of course for him being Jigsaw and he's in his 80s, so who knows how much longer he will do Cons. And of course Crampton for being a horror icon and pretty hot for an older actress.

If I could have a coffee and a 20-minute conversation with them, then maybe...but that would be only someone that I really have a true interest in talking to.

I do have a poster I need to get Ralp Macchio (the Karate Kid) to sign. I got an awesome art print with William Zabka and Martin Koves signatures (along with a movie line), but I really want Ralph's before I have it professionally framed. I am hoping I get lucky, and he comes somewhere within driving distance of here eventually because I just don't want to risk making massive plans far away and he cancel the appearance at the last minute which seems to happen with so many of these con celebrities.

No, he didn't smile for anyone. I saw several pictures in the development area. Cons are not for everyone. There are plenty like you who don't believe in paying for celebrity photos and autographs.

I think it is cool when you get to see people like that in real life though, even if they are just sitting down signing other people's autographs. It always seems slightly surreal if you see someone in person that you have only seen on TV or in the movie theater before.

I know which series you meant there, but damn that gave me a cool idea for a new franchise. Mind you, it would probably be directed by Fred Olen Ray and be very cheap and silly-gory and get buried on streaming, but still, endless title possibilities and no shortage of “actresses” at that level. Jugsaw 2: The Bigger They Are, etc etc.

Hey, compared to stuff like the TERRIFIER films, they’d probably be considered lightweights!

Some guests are chatty. People like Levar Burton would spend time talking if the line wasn't terrible and allowed for it. Some of the smaller cons still pull in big names, but not the crowds, so you can have a greater chance of talking for a while.

Re: Comic Conventions

Going to WonderCon 2025 in March. Just got my ticket. It will be the third straight year I’ve gone. As I’ve mentioned before, WonderCon is from the same company who puts on San Diego Comic Con. Just not as insane and not as studio and TV driven like SDCC.

Just announced Ann Margaret for Planet Comic-con. If I get the days off she's on my must-see list.

Re: Comic Conventions

Going to Comic Con Revolution in Ontario, CA in May. Bought a photo op and autograph with Erica Durance, who played Lois on Smallville. Going to have her sign my Smallville complete series BD set. I've had a huge crush on her for years since the show. I already had Tom and Michael sign it a few years ago. I also bought a photo op with her and Tom Welling. It's not cheap for all of these, but I won't get too many opportunities to see the actors who played an iteration of Lois & Clark.

If anyone is planning on going to Rhode Island Comic Con, they can ask Alec Baldwin about Halyna Hutchins.

John Schneider and Kristin Kreuk were just added to Comic Con Revolution.

Going to try to get an autograph and photo op with Kristin.

I think Kristin Kreuk may actually be an immortal vampire. She hasn't aged a day since Smallville. Bring garlic and a cross with you.

True, she's 42 now and still looks amazing.

And I bought an autograph and photo op with her yesterday as well. Spending a lot of money at this con. But, Kristin and Erica live in Canada and I won't get too many opportunities for this. I almost thought Kristin wasn't coming because she recently went back to work on A Murder in a Small Town season 2.

Her hair is turning gray, but he's still hot as fuck.

Re: Comic Conventions

I am planning to go to Horror con in OK City this July. It would be my first ever convention type thing. Barbara Crampton and Jeffrey Combs are scheduled to be there and I would like to get the upcoming Re-Animator UHD signed. Two of the actresses from the first Terrifier film will be there so I could get my Umbrella set signed. Also, Pinhead himself will be there.

Keep in mind, on the day of the event, 9.9 times out of 10 actors only take cash. They operate as independent contractors. Also, nowadays, a lot of actors are charging extra to sign memorabilia like physical media, props, toys etc. as opposed to 8x10 pictures.

Be prepared to bring cash and lots of it. Some cons will let you pre-pay for your autographs or photo ops ahead of time in their website with a credit card. But, they will charge a small service fee.

Re: Comic Conventions

Here's a bunch of recent celebrity prices that were posted on Facebook. Most are from last week's Monster Mania Con. There's a lot of pics, so I'll put them in a spoiler.

Spoiler:

Beverly Randolph

Re: Comic Conventions

Damn, Sackhoff gets the Star Wars surcharge. I'll be curious about the prices at Star Wars celebration next month in Japan. I heard Hayden's autographs and photos already sold out.

Tobin Bell was $80 at Creep IE Con a few months ago.

I went to WonderCon 2025 yesterday. Didn’t buy much, but I had a really good time. It was my third straight year visiting it.

A few photos and my small haul.

I can understand not feeling the autograph thing because it's not cheap and a lot like you don't value or care for signed memorabilia or photos.

I've gotten into Cons in the last 10 years and I do enjoy them, but I'm far from a "regular" from these shows. But, I like the atmosphere and being around people who enjoy pop culture as much as me. And of course, finding something unique to add to your personal collection. I mean there is more to pop culture IMO than just watching and collecting physical movies. But again, it's all subjective.
