Don is very peculiar on what he'll sign and talk about. He puts signs at the shows he's in so people don't bother him with things that he won't sign, like any Gemstone reprint of his work. Basically if the company has done him wrong, like Disney, or if the company didn't call Don to work on any of his reprints, he'll simply shunned them out.

I've always found that attitude extremely dickish.

You're basically taking your anger at a company out on your fans. The person who bought the book isn't responsible for the offenses of the publisher, and refusing to sign those books isn't going to change anything.

Bruce Campbell has done the same thing. I believe he won't sign Army of Darkness comics because the rights from Universal means the company doesn't have to pay likeness rights to Campbell. He will sign Evil Dead or Evil Dead 2 comics tho. Or is it the other way around?

There are certain books that Liefeld won't sign either. Most recently, Spider-Man/Deadpool #47 (first cameo of Major X), New Mutants #98 Facsimile Editions and Keenspot's X-Liefelds.

It can be that, but at the same time he's being upfront about this and also honest, because he isn't taking credit for things that he didn't work on. I've known him for a while and find him extremely pleasant. He does headshots for free (as long as you don't send them for grading, which in that case, he won't do them), always takes time to chat with his fans and will tell stories of how he develop his stories. The only thing I can tell you is that he has somewhat of a chip on his shoulder when he does cons in the US. By this I mean, that he will mention that when he travels outside the US, his fame is unreal and people will be doing lines almost as if he was Stan Lee. In the US, he usually doesn't get that much traffic on his table. I've always felt that overseas, Rosa's work has been always been made available in one way or another, while in the US his works have been reprinted in premium formats, mostly for people over 35 years old, on a limited scale.

I believe Rosa also usually incorporates your name into the sketch (“Thanks Joe” in big bubble letters is on both of mine). I’ve seen some oddly trimmed sketches on ebay for sellers trying to get around that.

Yeah, unless he's just going off on clueless fans, I don't see that as an issue. If someone made bootlegs of your work that you weren't getting credit or paid for, I'm sure you wouldn't want to sign it.

I used to love Rob's work when I was a teenager. Then people started pointing out all of the "shortcomings" and I haven't been able to enjoy it since. Every panel I study now to find the anatomy errors, the swipes, or the lazy shortcuts he takes.

His response to that guy is pure Liefeld, it doesn’t show up in that list. You have to click through to the tweet.

Also he did a cover for a book called Fire Power.

How does Larsen not have that sweet blue checkmark?

Re: Rob Liefeld - Worst comic book artist ever?

I thought Twitter suspended getting new checkmarks for a while (maybe they just started accepting applications again)? Maybe he didn't request his early enough?

I see nothing wrong with that Youngblood tweet, he doesn't own the property because of the weird way it was broken up (and he's not happy about it), so of course he's not doing anything with the property.

He actually did a cover for Bloodstrike a couple of years ago using this character

I believe Larsen had a blue checkmark but lost it when Trump supporters started reporting any post by Erik that insulted their dear leader. Twitter being the idiots they are took the blue checkmark away. They've done the same with other famous people and accounts, like porn stars and God.

As for the Youngblood tweet, I think this is the offending post:

As everyone has seen, Liefeld is thin skinned and hot headed and gets offended by anything. From what I saw at NCComicCon 3-4 years ago, Liefeld doesn't even socialize with other creators. He's very insecure and feels that everyone is attacking him in the industry.

I mean look at the thread you're posting this in. This sub forum is mostly dead. There's no real discussion of actual comic books, yet this thread marches on and on. I get that it's a self fulfilling prophecy to an extent, but can you blame him?

If he wasn’t a hot headed dick, Rob would be respected by the comic book community and his peers. But because he can’t help himself, it seems that he wants to continue to be this polarizing figure who keeps burning bridges unnecessarily. Case in point, Rob announced yesterday that the Shield project is now dead and he won’t work with Archie because someone spoiled his storyline on a variant cover. Honestly, the one that spoiled things was himself by throwing the tantrum publicly in gis social media. That’s one of the reasons no one wants to work with him anymore.
