Yeah I saw... but I thought the deal was only valid if it was in stock (ships/sold by Amazon)? Or did they change the terms?

I've seen a few on there fluctuate between shipping soon or in several weeks so think it's eligible as long as Amazon knows they'll have it in stock in the near future.

Yes, this sounds correct. I was able to place a 3 for $33 qualifying order this morning that included The Wild Robot 4K. The other titles were The Wizard of Oz 4K and The Shining 4K. I don't think any of them are actually ready to ship immediately because the projected delivery dates range from January 22 to February 11.

But unfortunately I think that now The Wild Robot really has once again become unorderable under the promotion. Whether it pops back in again before the sale ends Monday is anybody's guess. Titles are definitely coming and going.

Re: Amazon: Blu-ray discounts and deals mega-thread

I purchased the Face/Off and Sudden Death 4Ks from Kino Lorber for $17.99 each. It's basically the KL sale price for 4Ks, so I pulled the trigger.

Face/Off is an upgrade as I still have the old Paramount 2-disc DVD set from years ago.

Sudden Death I'm upgrading from the barebones Universal BD from several years ago. At the time, I was just happy to have it in HD.

Face/Off is currently available to order, but backordered until the end of the month

Amazon Amazon

Sudden Death is in stock

Amazon Amazon

If these titles interest you, I would pull the trigger now. Limited offer. You'll have to wait until the next Kino Lorber sale otherwise.

I picked up Sudden Death. My favorite "not-Die Hard" rip-off flick..

targeted 30% off promotional offer:
Amazon Amazon

caveat: some may see a different discount % or none at all.

Patience paid off on this. Canceled 'Road Warrior' standalone 4k release from the prior 3 for $33 and ordered the 4 disc anthology for $28...worked out well with rewards for under $25 - needed only the 1st 3 in 4K. Is the KL release of the first in the series preferred over the WB release ?

Flicker Alley's silent 'Hound of the Baskerville' is an awesome pick for $21.xx. Also picked up Blue Underground's 'Final Countdown' for $19.xx. Wish I had picked up '5 Card Stud' for $15.xx this morning before they raised the price by $15 :-(

I should have stuck with my usual policy of not buying from Amazon. One of the releases I received in this sale had a Blu-ray floating in the case and it's damaged. It won't play in either of my Blu-ray players. The UHD disc is fine so normally I wouldn't even care, but on this particular release the extra features are only on the Blu-ray. I started to go through the return process on Amazon, but they're only offering a refund, not an exchange. That's pointless since I can't re-buy this single release for the $11 I paid in the sale. I guess I'll just live without the extras.

Have you tried the online chat option? Try it and ask for a replacement.

I don't know how they stay in business. Too big to fail, I guess.

They're the biggest online retailer, a streaming service and a movie studio. Yeah they aren't going anywhere despite how unsatisfied you are with them.

If you can't get anything done via chat... just place a new order for it... when it comes, return the originally ordered one on the new order.

Thanks, I may try that option. Honestly, the effort to explain the situation in online chat is maybe even more than I want to go through for this. I looked up the extras and I doubt I would ever watch them more than once. It's just an annoyance that exchange isn't an option in the standard return process.

Usually it is. However, if "shipped and sold by Amazon.com" for that title is unavailable due to being out of stock, then return for refund becomes your only option. Many of the popular titles in this 3 for $33 sale are currently out of stock due to all the orders. Since Amazon has a 30-day return window, what you can do is wait a few weeks, and check to see if the title is back in stock. When it is, THEN do your return, and you should have an option for an exchange.

That's a good tip, thanks! I believe I have until mid-February so I'll maybe try again in a couple of weeks.

Yep that's where I am with Dune 2. It keeps being out of stock so I can't do a normal exchange only a refund.

Just FYI, I have had a couple cases where the system still didn't give a replacement option, even though it was in stock. In that case, just make sure it's in stock first, and then do a support chat. They may be able to provide a solution, like overriding the system and doing an exchange anyway, or doing a return for refund on the broken one, and placing a new order, and then they adjust the new order's price to the sale price.
