I know Hamilton Books had 3 of the 5 seasons for $5.99 each but did not get all seasons at that price.
Currently Hamilton has Seasons 2 and 3 for $5.99 each.
A fantastic Blu-ray set, probably the best classic TV release on the format.

For me, it's between that and The Dick Van Dyke Show Complete Series.
$34.99 is well worth it.

I bought the br box cheap a few years ago, Very worthwhile. Now if Kino would sell the Outer Limits set for a comparable price........... I'm still on DVD for OL because the br seasons are so expensive.

They’re price matching Target. It’s part of the buy 2 get 1 free sale at Target and you can get it cheaper if you can find three titles there.

Picked up the complete series of Better Call Saul for $109.99 plus tax. I don’t think I’ll get much else if anything at all.

Re: Amazon: Blu-ray discounts and deals mega-thread

The digital code for the $119 Supernatural set expired in 2022. If Digital codes are important to you, then this is probably a pass.

But, if you don't care and just want the entire collection on disc, then I still say this is a great deal and get it while you can. But, I know 15 seasons is a long ass series and most of you are probably intimidated buying a set of that length.

I only need the 15th and final season to wrap up my collection, so I don't need this.

You redeem it on Vudu (the paid VOD service) and you can watch it streaming on your TV or an iPad. Or even a phone. Some people like having the option to watch and not carry big sets or discs around. Like you can watch it on vacation or on breaks at work. It’s an added bonus that the disc manufacturers added years ago.

For most it’s an added value to your expensive disc purchases.

Re: Amazon: Blu-ray discounts and deals mega-thread

For many they were re-selling their digital codes to recoup the cost of their media purchase. A huge set like Supernatural's digital code commanded a decent chunk of change on the secondary trading market.

Yes, that's why a lot of people are pissed WB codes are expired for sets like Supernatural that are only a few years old. You could sell the code for possibly $30+ to help offset the cost. I did that when I got Smallville a few years ago.

Looks like there is only 3 left in stock. It's a big bulky set, so I get that some may hesitate getting it even though it's a good deal.

I don't blame people for being pissed about a digital code expiring. I rarely redeem them and usually give them to one of my kids, but it's often a long time after I purchase a title before it's opened and some of those codes have expired before I've opened them. IMHO they should never expire.

They never used to expire, digital codes would still be active years after their listed expiration. Then Warner Bros. got bought out by Discovery and the studio, to start winnowing down their massive debt, burned all their expired digital codes to shave costs. It's mostly the story of one studio badly losing money.

the condition of the slip cover of ‘Highlander’ UHD that Amazon delivered today. Apparently, the picker couldn’t tell and perhaps thinks this is the cover design

There is remnants of a UPS sticker in that Highlander photo - are you sure you didn't order a used Warehouse copy because that's what it looks like to me. [Though still scary to think the UPS Store that handled the original return would just peel and stick their return label right on the cover!]. --Peter

One of the only cover arts that doesn't have a face on it.

Pretty crazy that they looked at that and sent it. That said, if I ordered any movie used, I wouldn't expect to get it with a slipcover at all.

The pickers don't give a shit if they pull a damaged item for you. Amazon is basically tracking every single second and every single step their pickers take to fill orders, and they get fired if they dip below a certain level that gets tighter the longer they work there. The two seconds it takes to put that copy back and get another one will be held against them at their next evaluation. And Amazon doesn't give a shit if they send out a damaged item. All they care about is warehouse efficiency and squeezing every penny they can out of every single transaction.

Re: Amazon: Blu-ray discounts and deals mega-thread

My Criterion of The Others 4K just shipped from Amazon. It had been on back order for a few weeks. Shipping all the way from Florida. I ordered it on November 26th

I'm guessing it's going to take at least 3 days to come to California.

Re: Amazon: Blu-ray discounts and deals mega-thread

Re Casablanca 4k: Someone here very kindly gave me my first 4k player. Is the $9.99 Casablanca 4k a good choice to see the difference between 1080 & 4k? My TV is a 4k Sony X85 55". I have noticed the TV & the player don't seem to get along on dvd, I get the "Soap Opera" look & don't seem to be able to fix it in the motion settings. I haven't watched a blu-ray yet on it. The actual player has very few adjustments. The TV has a ton of them. Thx!
