Why would Amazon need to change Prime? It's hugely successful for them.

re: Amazon discounts and deals on Blu-ray
Hopefully everyone who pre-ordered Hobbit EE has noticed your price should be down to $19.96 when Amazon had it up for that price for a couple of hours.

At last these get individual releases!
Raiders of the Lost Ark (1981) (Pre-order) $17.49 Indiana Jones & Temple of Doom (1984) (Pre-order) $17.49 Indiana Jones & Last Crusade (1989) (Pre-order) $17.49 I can pick up the two I want and skip the four movie box set. I presume that the prices for these will be dropping in a few months. |
re: Amazon discounts and deals on Blu-ray
Olympus has Fallen is now $14.99. Lowest price so far. I think I'm finally biting on that one. 50/50 it will be $9.99 or less during Black Friday.

I could care less about special features. I'd rather have proper cases and cover art. They better drop the goddamn prices though. Bare bones releases of old movies are NOT worth that. I don't give a damn what movies they are.
The reason I posted the individual releases was because I was surprised: I was afraid that the movies might not be released individually because studios make more money by forcing the purchase of a complete set. I've held off buying the box set in the hope that it would come down in price to something reasonable (think: Back to the Future set) but it hasn't happened thus far. Now, with the individual movies coming out, it becomes moot. Patience has been rewarded! |
re: Amazon discounts and deals on Blu-ray
and the good thing is that with these individual releases, the price of the boxed set will come down...making the price per title even more attractive - there's a reason studios don't do individual releases until the interest in the box has waned

re: Amazon discounts and deals on Blu-ray
I would like the individual movies as well.. just would like the special features also.. that way I can pick and choose which of the series I want.. and then, unless it is a overall retrospect, I can see the features applicable to the titles I would want.. alas.. I will hold out for the right price on the set.. (yet I will likely only watch the features once .. ha! )..

Argo is a Lightning Deal for $9.99 right now--23% claimed with 19 minutes to go.
Good movie, but I don't need to own it and watch it again. |

Good movie, but I don't need to own it and watch it again. For those considering, keep in mind there's an extended collector's edition coming out next month. |
