Most single disc DVDs I mail end up being cheaper to ship First Class over Media Mail anyway.

try shipping the 'STar Trek' movies set first class from CA to NY - I believe it was $15.xx. There's the advantage of media mail

Considering they have to give almost all of their profits to the government and you apparently don't know that, you may be more shocked than you realize.

You mean that lovely provision that was imposed on USPS that they had to pre-fund 75 years worth or Pension costs of past/current/even future employees who haven't even been born yet. Or since USPS has been extremely aggressive in hiring Veterans for decades that once they are a USPS employee they not only have to prefund all future healthcare costs for the time the Vets work for the PO, the PO is now 100% responsible -- 25 years in the Army, 10 years at the PO and the PO is responsible for 100% of lifetime medical costs.

Yep, my understanding is that's all 100% correct. Thank our wonderful congress.

Not anymore by the looks of the new rates

I'm most familiar with entry level commercial rates. 4-6 ounces = $2.60 first class.

Last year 4 ounces was $2.21.

1 pound media mail = $2.72.

BTW, if anyone is still interested in Amazon deals, The Walk is $12.99/3D $16.99.

I highly recommend the 3D version of The Walk. I'd jump on that if I hadn't already purchased it.

Yep, the 3D is a blind buy for me. Looking forward to it.

Re: Amazon discounts and deals on Blu-ray

I shipped a 8oz package first class a couple weeks ago for 2.60, but I bought my label from Paypal, so I don't know if that gets me commercial rates. I do it mainly because I'd rather just drop off the package at the post office as opposed to waiting in line.

One thing that is nice about the new postage rates is that the limit for first class mail has been increased from 13 to 16 oz.

Could you guys please move all the postage talk somewhere else and stop bumping the thread with this? Thanks.

Agreed, it would be nice if all this talk went to the Store forum or something.

maybe to the complaints about amazon thread.

i think it was relevant here at first, to make people aware of the jump in price for free minimum (this is the first place i heard of it).

American Ultra is $8 on Amazon currently. Not sure who they're price-matching...

Thanks. It's sad that whenever Amazon has a good price, it's almost always because they're price-matching somebody else... There used to be a time when Amazon could come up with their own competitive prices...

It will be interesting if the shipping issues take a big bite out of Amazon's sales (though that's never stopped them from getting financing & outrageous stock prices before!)
