People shouldn't overly worry about delayed shipments from them, customs occasionally inspects a cargo container and delays shipping time by a couple of weeks.

I love ordering from amazon UK. Their shipments usually get to me faster than shipments from amazon US.

They also tend to have some really great prices on region-free Blu-ray sets ( Kubrick and Universal Monsters, for example.)

Hmm, kind of shows how much demand there is for stuff that's been snubbed over here, such as the recent Disney 3D titles.

Snubbed titles, sure, but even more so for the killer prices on big boxed sets. I got the Alien, Universal Monsters, and Hitchcock sets over there for much cheaper than I could have gotten them here.

Fading Gigolo $5
As a Woody Allen fan, I had to jump at this as a blind buy...

A nude Sharon Stone scene was cut from the movie and inexplicably made a deleted scene:

At what point should I contact them? I ordered my copy same time as everyone else and it still has not arrived. I am pretty good about being patient on these type of things but was just wondering. Their website expected a delivery date of 1-21 and we are a week past that now,

They have no control over customs. I would give them two weeks past the expected delivery date. Which service did they use to ship it?

If it doesn't show up by Saturday then shoot them an email.

It didn't give a service.

FWIW Spiderbite, my copy of BBT shipped the same day as my Superman set with a 1/21 expected delivery date and it hasn't arrived yet either.

Okay. Nice to know I am not the only one. Didn't come today either. I will give the two weeks after their expected delivery date before contacting them. I would hate to have them send another and the other one show up. I like good customer service but stuff like that can go away quickly if people abuse it.

My Superman boxset was also shipped Jan 11th and hasn't arrived yet. Will let you know when it does.

My order for that new Metropolis BD hasn't arrived from the UK yet. It had a delivery estimate for 1/28, which was yesterday.

Wouldn't surprise me if a whole lotta stuff was delayed. Maybe because of the storms.

Does the UK usually get storms in this time?

Re: Amazon discounts and deals on Blu-ray

I'm waiting on a couple of steelbooks and a regular Blu-ray from Amazon France, but its only been a week. Usually my Amazon UK shipments take about 1 1/2 to 2 weeks, and the one time I ordered from Amazon Germany, it took 2 weeks. The only time I've had Amazon UK get lost was the infamous Alien Anthology blu from a while back when they had it on a ridiculous sale (at the time anyway). That's what made them switch to Royal Mail for a lot of shipments I believe.

Both of my sets came in yesterday, so hopefully other folks should start seeing theirs sooner than later.

Still waiting on my Police Academy set. Not having any idea of when to expect it is a bit concerning when you live in a neighborhood and wouldn't have any idea it was left and possibly snatched off your porch. I don't like having stuff shipped nowadays without a tracking number and notification as to when it should arrive. This guessing stuff is for the birds.

There's seems to be lots of talk about shipping times from Amazon UK which is odd since this the bargain thread for Amazon US. Can we get back to deals for Amazon.com please?

Solid Snake 01-30-15 10:46 AM

Re: Amazon discounts and deals on Blu-ray

I don't mind it. It's not like it's going to take over the thread anyway. Seems like something worth knowing anyway...

Re: Amazon discounts and deals on Blu-ray

No, this is an Amazon thread - it is not specific to region...

Re: Amazon discounts and deals on Blu-ray

I haven't really minded since it's US customers ordering region-compatible discs, and I've done that myself. That said, I've been hoping to run across a US deal that I could post myself to get things back on track. :)
