The blu-ray. I ordered it. I didn't want to take the chance, and I'll have it to watch this holiday weekend. The regular DVDs of the show were $8 last year on Amazon.

Mad Men season 6 dropped to $19.99 overnight

Probably the worst Mad Men set as far as extras goes. No commentaries and a few fluffy featurettes.

That's disturbing to hear. I'll wait until this set drops to $9.99 like I've gotten with the past seasons. But I did greatly enjoy all of the extras on the past sets. I wonder for what reason why there was a drop off on the extras like that.

Every season had commentaries on most if not all the episodes, some seasons had 2 commentaries per episode. Lionsgate dropped the ball on this one. What's worse is season 7 is being broken up into 2 short 7 episode seasons (2014 & 2015), so expect 2 more sets to be released in the next 3 years.

I saw it as it aired on AMC, so I don't need to own it right away. Unless someone gets it for me for X-Mas, I'm going to wait until it drops to $14.99 or less.

I didn't know that they were splitting the final season of Mad Men but I guess it's not too surprising considering that AMC did the same thing for the final season of Breaking Bad. I think that season six was hit and miss towards the beginning but got stronger the last four or five episodes of the season. Hopefully both seasons five and six go on sale for Black Friday (I know Best Buy is supposed to have season five for $9.99).

Bastards are splitting the final season in two, like Breaking Bad.

Second 'half' of season 7 will be broadcast in the spring of 2015.

Target has a Mad Men S6 store exclusive with Bonus features. I don't know what they are, but the DVD is in the Target ad for $10. The Blu might be on sale too, or for $10 someone might buy the DVD just for the bonus disc and double dip and wait for a good price on the BR later.
