Assume that all of these are available to all customers unless specifically listed as member only like the Welcome Package. Also remember that any preliminary codes are just that and BN could pull it, change the details or exclusions anything prior to release so always a bit of YMMV until the final release date

Mini FAQ
Coupons should not work for PREORDERS , Nook, Legos, Rosetta Stone, Digital, Gift Cards, Memberships, etc. There are glitches where sometimes an excluded item will be allowed but assume that is the exception to the rule

Max 3 GC on a single online order.
Online only a single code can be applied to an order

Online ordered items can returned to a local store unless it's classified as a web-only item then it's at the store's discretion to accept

I'd be all over the $3.99 stuff, but I already own most of it. Waiting for either the LDs the rest of the week or the doorbuster price match that will happen around midnight on Wednesday.

Even though I figure it out every time, the first split-second I see someone mention "LDs", I think they're talking about LaserDiscs.

These damn 3.99 titles are basically the price of a rental.

And cheaper than seeing the movie in a theater. Some of them also come with free Amazon Instant video versions so you can watch them by streaming before you even get the BD.

And that extra $1 in book/video/music credit per title really adds up.

This makes me wonder if I should be ordering in smaller batches.

Re: Amazon discounts and deals on Blu-ray

The upcoming blu Ray deal of the day is LOTR Extended Edition Box Set for $29.99. That strikes me as a reason to repurchase this set (for myself, or it makes a great gift), because I was able to sell mine used a few months back for $45, as it oddly went through a brief period were it was a super expensive buy for a new purchase. To be able to replace my copy for over $10 less (even after taxes) than I paid for the set back in Nov 2012 (when it was also a lightning deal for $40)...that just calls for a purchase.

I order everything separately.

I've racked up at least $50 in free kindle books and digital music/films in the last few months.

Yes, but how many of those $3.99 titles are actually worth owning and taking up shelf or closet space? The one thing I'm trying to avoid this Holiday season is picking up those kind of titles just to throw on the shelf or closet unopened for months, years. Why buy it then?

If you have Prime, (and have understanding mail people..) order everything by itself. Half the time they'll combine things, but you'll still get a dollar for every item..

IF you'd consider renting it, it's then cheap enough that you could buy it and give it away. (And keep the digital copy juat because you can). Win/win. If you wouldn't consider renting it... pass. Easy!

Re: Amazon discounts and deals on Blu-ray

Not sure if it's region-free or not, but you can pick up Planet of the Apes: Evolution Collection from Amazon UK right now for a tad under $30 factoring in conversion. Except for Dawn, this has all the films including the remake as well as Rise.

Re: Amazon discounts and deals on Blu-ray

Not that many here need to add more TV BD inventory to their unwatched list, but The Blacklist season 1 is now $14.96.

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/The...=ATVPDKIKX0DER

However, a cheaper alternative is to stream it on Netflix since they have season 1 available if you're interested in trying to catch up to the current season.

It's currently on a midseason hiatus and won't come back until Super Bowl Sunday.

I'm contemplating pulling the trigger, but I hear mixed things about the show (outside of Spader's good work).

There are several fantastic multi-episode arcs during the 1st season.

But, it's about 70% case of the week procedural. Spader really rules the show and brings a lot of dark humor to it as well.

Imitation of Life 2-disc / 2-film DVD collection is at a new low of $6.49. If you haven't seen this, both version are well-done (and each have tough-to-watch racism stuff, too) and are excellent markers in Hollywood's relationship with African American actors, stories, etc. I had a camelcamelcamel watch on it for a year or so and nabbed it.

Thanks. I'll likely grab it when I grab the LOTR deal of the day.

I'm glad someone mentioned the LOTR deal. I was hoping for a $30 deal and here it is, though I wasn't expecting to have to get up at 3 am to snag it. Oh well.
