I agree. I waited on Despicable Me... and passed because the price SUCKED. I'm now thinking most of these lightning deals will not be worth the time invested. I'll just get it if I see it for a good price elsewhere and pass on the Amazon waiting game.

X-Men Days of Future Past is currently $9.99. This matches Best Buy's Black Friday price.

That practice is pretty standard - they show the lowest "Prime" price *BUT* they also are upfront about just who it's from with the vendor under the "In Stock" text. If you don't see "Sold by Amazon" just click the link with "xx new from $xx" link to see them all and pick Amazon from the list. I'll always check the Amazon price in such instances and go for it *if* the difference is just a few cents - but I also don't pay sales tax on Amazon purchases. If I did I'd check others that are "Fulfilled by Amazon" to see if one was tax-free. FWIW - a "Fulfilled by Amazon" purchase is treated by them as if they sold it themselves. I've found it the best way to purchase items from MP vendors if you think the product could have issues.

How is the picture quality? I tried to watch this on DVD and the quality was so bad I just couldn't do it. Sometimes these clean up pretty well. Lonesome Dove was a terrible DVD (first release) but looked pretty good on BD.

It is an incredible spy series, probably the best one ever released. The Blu-ray's quality wasn't that great but I guess what you would expect from a 1970s mini-series.

It is the PBS broadcast version intended for the United States. The original BBC episodes flow a little differently since they condensed 7 shorter episodes into six longer episodes.

Quite. The TNG prices are great, and for any Bat-fans, I would heartily recommend LEGO Batman for $10, let alone $8 (it includes UV, too). Really one of the best Batman films made.

Everything else... not bad, but nothing great yet. And todays lightning deals were rubbish.

Sort of wished I had waited on the TNG sets as those are really good deals. Oh well I guess. I haven't seen it but I might give The Rite a try for $5.

I love that LEGO Batman movie. Superman is in it as well and the A/V quality is fantastic. While it is aimed at children, there are a lot of jokes that will fly over their heads.

I tried to resist, but I couldn't resist buying the Downton Abbey Blu-ray set. I thought that it was a great deal.
