Assume that all of these are available to all customers unless specifically listed as member only like the Welcome Package. Also remember that any preliminary codes are just that and BN could pull it, change the details or exclusions anything prior to release so always a bit of YMMV until the final release date

Mini FAQ
Coupons should not work for PREORDERS , Nook, Legos, Rosetta Stone, Digital, Gift Cards, Memberships, etc. There are glitches where sometimes an excluded item will be allowed but assume that is the exception to the rule

I'm up in two weeks. I'm dumping it. $80 was good. $100 was questionable. $120 is absurd.

Re: Amazon discounts and deals on Blu-ray

This might be the last year I let my Prime renew as well. They already got me at the new price in August. At $80 it wasn't a terrible value but even then it was still sorta high. Once it got to $100 I was on the fence with it more but now $120 I definitely feel is too high.

I ordered six titles over Black Friday but like others mentioned they offered free shipping across the board for non-Prime members anyways. Plus the thing is even if they didn't you can pretty easily get to the free shipping threshold if you're buying enough this time of year anyways.

I haven't been purchasing as much from Amazon as I used to and with the discount on video games gone there's less incentive to keep it. I pretty much never use Prime Video either.

Re: Amazon discounts and deals on Blu-ray

I suppose I’m still OK at $120 since that breaks out to $10/month. The biggest benefit I use is streaming. I figure that’s worth $10/month.

What is irking me is all the e-mails I am getting promoting all the new benefits they have added when I literally cannot use any of them (MidWest rural America!).

Re: Amazon discounts and deals on Blu-ray

The only parts I'm using are the kindle loans, 1 free kindle book per month & free ship. I don't do streaming. I am on the low income version; which is why I was concerned if they were raising the cost.

Re: Amazon discounts and deals on Blu-ray

Shouldn't these comments about the renewal costs go into the complaints thread?

This is a bargains thread, not I don't use Amazon enough to cough up $120/year for it.

Re: Amazon discounts and deals on Blu-ray

Or at least keep it to complaining about their prices on DVD's Blu-Rays.

Like personally, I'm finding it more frustrating than ever that their deals on titles often seem to last less than a couple hours. Which translates to this thread losing all value given by the time somebody sees the post noting a price drop, the deal is dead. And it was happening long before the BF time period and is still happening. One of the last actual BD deals posted here (Jumanji) was dead by the time I checked on it less than two hours after the post.

Re: Amazon discounts and deals on Blu-ray

In fairness, several of the other titles that were $4.00 alongside Jumanji are still at that price, days later:

I FEEL PRETTY
TRUTH OR DARE
FIFTY SHADES 3
JURASSIC WORLD
PITCH PERFECT 2
STRANGERS: PREY AT NIGHT

. . . and at least a couple of the others (DARKEST MINDS, MAZE RUNNER 3) also stayed at $4.00 for more than just a couple of hours. JUMANJI stayed at $4.00 into the nest day at least, as I recall.

It's also worth noting that these sale prices disappear but then return a short time later. I got a few "just missed out" titles that way -- by checking back, and quickly checking this thread a few times a day. Don't know if it's related to inventory controls or something, but it's changed my habits that past couple of years.

Re: Amazon discounts and deals on Blu-ray

They mainly change prices once the stock is out at the store they are price matching. Since Target is still offering those online with free shipping, Amazon might as well keep them at that price as well hoping other customers won't purchase them from Target.

I was able to order Tag for $6 from Best Buy once they got it back in stock. My order from Amazon was on backorder for one to two months, so I happily canceled it. So I didn't end up getting one thing during Black Friday from Amazon this year.

All seasons were $10 at Target last week though

The post and specifics I was referring to was $7.96 for the 4K. Don't know if the BD for $4 was still active or not because I was looking for a better deal (than $9) on the 4k.

It's back at that price and supposedly in stock on December 6.
