Thanks, Lizard!

The 2 disc could still drop some more before release day. If you want to hedge your bets, there's no reason you couldn't pre-order both and cancel whichever one you decide you don't want after the real first week prices are revealed.

Do a lot of you use Amazon Prime for free shipping on orders less than $25 ? The issue I often run into is that I want to take advantage of the deals, but it's only for 1-2 titles (i.e. Prestige for $7.99), and I wind up paying in shipping what I am saving.

I use Prime. The free 2-day shipping makes it a lot easier to grab sales and low prices as they appear.

Prime here as well. If you use Amazon a lot, it's really a great deal.

I've had prime for like a year and a half now, but I haven't paid a dime for it yet (was on Amazon Student for a year, and on Amazon Mom now), but I might be tempted to when this gravy train runs out, it's way too conveinent.

If I ordered more, Prime would be a no brainer since Amazon's prices non-used titles are generally unbeatable. Just not sure it's worth it for me since I'm not as avid a collector as many of you are.

To the same token, I just checked, and if I order just The Prestige for $7.99, my total S&H is $2.99 ($3.97 if I add 2 titles). If I were going to head to Best Buy to purchase this for that much, I would have to spend $3 on the subway or a couple bucks for gas, so it's really a wash if I just want a 1-2 items.

I guess I owe thanks to Best Buy. I had ordered another copy of Shakespeare in Love as a gift but was able to cancel and reorder because the rest of my order remained unchanged in price. For a title released yesterday, $8 is a good deal.

All the time. I've had it since 2006 or so, including a free year on Amazon Mom. To say it's paid for itself the other years I've had it is an understatement, but my family uses it for way more than just movies.

Honestly, I always make sure my orders equal $25 or more. It actually helps me curb spending. See if I see a $10 title and don't see anything else, I don't bother. If I'm within a couple of dollars, I'll try to find something, but that's about it. That way I'm only ordering from Amazon about twice a month tops on average.

However, I can't tell you how many times I've nearly bought Prime. I think my patience is fading but I've been doing this for years.

Yeah, that's the thing. Once you have it, you end up using it on a lot more stuff than you first thought you would, and there are SO many things you can order on Amazon. You become spoiled not having to deal with so many things. Just order it from Amazon and it will be here in 2 days. It's also a bonus for those of us who don't have to pay sales tax at Amazon.

The page that pictures the standard BD case just says "Blu-ray" in parentheses. It seems other digibooks are listed on the site with the description "Blu-ray Book Packaging" (including Dr. Zhivago), so I suspect "Blu-ray Packaging" is just a typo that omits the word "book."

Ultimately I guess we'll have to wait until someone gets theirs; I only ordered Dr. Z from this deal.

True. Our shopping at B&M in general has declined tremendously. With two kids and each of us having jobs, we hardly go to stores (Costco and the supermarket excepted). If amazon doesn't have the best deal on something, often some other web site will.

Best Buy's Upgrade and Save did lure me out of hiding recently, however.

And now you can get it even cheaper at Best Buy with the $2 coupon at www.coupons.com (click on Home Entertainment).

I'm about the same way. They don't offer prime shipping in Hawaii so I'm practically forced to buy $25 worth of stuff to get FS. Luckily, there is a lot of other (cheap) non bd items I can buy and pick from to get the total to $25.

Anyway picked up 3 Days of the Condor today and A Clockwork Orange (regular BD version).

Somebody mentioned this on the forum a while ago, but sotra's post is worth noting. If you don't mind that this is the theatrical cut of the film, or are a digibook collector, NBK is a nice deal. It's out of print, but marketplace sellers routinely have it very cheap. Sometimes the seller has amazon fulfillment too, so you can use it towards free shipping, or with Prime.

I share prime with 3 other people. When I see something I order it one at a time. This way I do not have to try to get my order over $25 and wait two to three weeks for anything I order. As a rule if I order it today I have it by Friday.

There have been many times I have been at a store, using my cell phone. I order the item and had it ship. Saves %%% plus Tax.

I remember reading somewhere that one could manipulate your Quick Picks, to increase your chances of something appearing in your Gold Box. For the life of me, I still can't figure out how to do it. Can someone please educate me?

Yep. I'll be with them & Prime for as long as they stay competitive with their prices after they start charging sales tax in CA this September.

Yeah, I'm just waiting for the day for this to hit Texas as well. Then sadly, I'll probably won't be buying as much online through them. I'll still go there of course (I mean i buy through GoHastings & Barnes & Nobles all the time and they charge tax), but I'd be lieing if I wouldn't say it be a lot more sparingly.

I've been paying tax on Amazon for two years and my buying habits have gone up, not down. Even with tax, amazon + prime still beats wasting time and gas going to a store.
