Re: Big Lots Blu-rays

Checked the local store today. They had the new display, almost totally full. There were only about 10 films I'd even heard of. I already own it, but the only blu I thought was a good deal is Purple Rain @ $5.

Made 1 blind buy on dvd @$3: Mothers & Daughetrs with an all star cast: Susan Sarandon, Christina Ricci, Sharon Stone & more.

Also picked up the Karloff set, only to discover because I was too lazy to check my collection before I left that I already have all 6 films on the original Columbia DVD's. Normally that would go back; I don't know if it's worth $4.50 to have an extra Covid exposure. (I used the 20% off coupon)

Did you see a sign about this or did someone tell you? I bought a clearance title earlier today (a Mr. Selfridge BD that I had bypassed many times before). It was marked down from $5 to $1.25, but rung up at 93 cents. I didn't question it, but wondered why.

Re: Big Lots Blu-rays

No signs for clearance at store I went to last week. 4 movie DVD John Wayne set, High and Mighty, Hondo, Island In The Sky, and McLintock! stickered $5 . At checkout $1.25 less 20% coupon came to $1 plus tax.

Re: Big Lots Blu-rays

The stores I visit almost never post any clearance signs or even mark their media with stickers.

no signs, I checked out and the cashier stared at the screen a minute and said oh, clearance is on sale this weekend! They were marked $2.50, came up .98 cents plus coupon. Wish they had more but anything else I already had

Re: Big Lots Blu-rays

Yea, my place add clearance sticker to any media by chance as if they make a pile and random add sticker or give to certain media for any reason. so gotta really check all and add to basket so not gotta refind at same time or u back tracking and waste time lol. so far see none of mine get so cheap but guess it a sale and not really said of any unless by email or something as they try get rid of media since traffic does not buy it as much as before cause some or many have gone to streaming for all. but as i know and read, physical media is not gone just gotta grab and go so u got for when really wanna see again. have read and been told others try go back and rewatch any but teh stream removes it for space for new any so gotta grab at time. also have scored john wayne multi packs in past to where u gotta compare a pack to see which has more to get money worth any and by chance extra on cd any. i try do a no media get for month since got so much now so try save and score any gold later.

Same here - and I chose not to go in for several reasons, one of which was pure laziness knowing my coupons didn't expire for a bit.

If you have a Dollar Tree(s) around, check them routinely - more or less the same Magnolia, Universal, Well Go, Warner dumps occur there as well. The first and third titles in your list are part of whats been found in DT.

Re: Big Lots Blu-rays

It's always majorly hit-or-miss finding specific titles at Dollar Tree. Those have shown up at Dollar Tree but the chances of actually coming across them now are remote.

Thanks for the heads up!

The Dollar Trees that are closest to where I live don't usually have anything. Kind of a bummer since there are about 5 within a 10-15 minute radius.

The last time I bought a bunch at various Dollar Trees, I drove to ones about 25-45 minutes away.

Re: Big Lots Blu-rays

I encountered the Black Friday display at a store today! Unfortunately, there wasn't a great deal to get excited about. It was the typical cardboard display advertising $1.88/$2.88 titles. I bought a few and they rang up Black Friday on the receipt. The odd thing--the display is filled with a bunch of stuff you'd see in October (horror titles and the like) along with a bunch of family-friendly films and shows. Kind of an odd mix. Most everything was DVDs

Here are the BDs I noted:

Battlefield America - $2.88
Dark Summer $1.88
Dead Souis - $1.88
Iron Man: Extremis / Spider-Woman: Agent of Sword - $2.88
Kill Katie Malone - $2.88

Here are some of the DVD "sets" I found:

Adventures of Tintin: Season 1 - $2.88
Conan the Adventurer: Season 1 - $2.88
Cyber City Dedo 808: Vol. 1, 2 & 3 - $2.88
Dr. Katz Professional Therapist: Season 1 - $1.88
Dr. Katz Professional Therapist: Season 2 - $2.88
Jane by Design: Vol. 1 - $1.88
Melissa & Joey: Season 1, Part 1 - $1.88
Melissa & Joey: Season 1, Part 2 - $1.88
Superhero Squad Show: Vol. 1 & 2 - $1.88

In addition, the regular 4-sided rack had been restocked with the large brick multi-season TV shows. Most of the 'em were the same ones as before. I'm listing below what seemed new to me.

Beverly Hillbillies: S1-4 - $15
Love Boat: S1-3 - $15
Vega$: Complete Series - $10
Have Gun Will Travel : S1-4 - $15
Untouchables: S1-3 - $20

I also noticed the Alfred Hitchcock Ultimate Collection (DVD) for $20.

Something to note on those sets. They stopped releasing them as seasons after season 2. So if you want them all you have to get the Complete Series set. (I bought them at Big Lots, like 5-7 years ago).

Re: Big Lots Blu-rays

Store restocked the videos but nothing that hasn't already been mentioned here. I did get the "I Love Lucy" Season 1 blu ray for $5 (actual $4 after 20% coupon). Lots of copies of the multiple season sets like "The Love Boat", "The Untouchables", " Have Gun Will Travel" "Laverne and Shirley" , "7th Heaven" , "4400" "Streets of San Francisco" etc, One of the "House" blu ray seasons was $5.

Unless your store priced them differently, those seasons sets are $10.
