Re: Big Lots Blu-rays

I saw Selfridge S1 on BD and S2 on DVD. Better Call Saul S1 on BD but that seemed to be leftover stock.

Re: Big Lots Blu-rays

I received an e-mail that the 20% off sale is going on again this weekend for select stores because of bad winter weather last weekend. Might be worth checking into with your local store if you're interested.

Re: Big Lots Blu-rays

While it says "select stores" it's a huge list. Mine is included and our weather wasn't that bad - just rainy.

Here's a link to the list of participating stores:

Here the 20% is repeated on a 1 time use coupon good through 1/30/20.

Running these 20% off sales this frequently doesn't bode well for Big Lots.

Until the awful December batch, Dollar Tree & BL were getting a significant number of the same films, which for us could explain some of it; but I don't think movies are a priority for BL at this point.

This one is due to poor weather conditions over large portions of the US last weekend. They've done it before when bad weather caused fewer visits during a F&F sale.

Interesting. The one here is a "normal" 2 day F&F event with the same coupon as last weekend. They have a stack of 'em at the registers and simply scan one when you check out.

Re: Big Lots Blu-rays

A few new titles (to me, at the very least) that I came across this week:

Boss Baby
Fifty Shades Darker (a digibook type case if I recall correctly)
King Kong (Jack Black--steelbook)
Lucy (this title is not new, but it had a slip I've never seen -- a glow in the dark?-type look)
Star Trek (2009 steelbook, had seen the film in various forms before but not as a SB)
Star Trek: The Final Frontier
Star Trek: Nemesis
Star Trek: Undiscovered Country
Straight Outta Compton

All of these were $5.

Re: Big Lots Blu-rays

I guessing blots gets some good stuff at anytime and try fill display or shelf unit when get any or see space can add to the display. i say why not just put in tech area as where got tech gear and supplies? that way they can store movies in boxes and have it more organized kinda and have more space to check what got instead gotta movie stuff around when they try shove out to much stock. or just get bins like walmart and let traffic check that way lol. i notice now days media just do not sell as much as before since thrift place and even dollar stores get movies now lol. atleast blots get some a or b list movies at times so some worthy gets anytime u really want stuff.

Re: Big Lots Blu-rays

The local Big Lots B&M got in a decent amount of titles that I haven't seen at that location before, such as various Star Trek BD sets, King Kong (2005) & Serenity Steelbooks, etc.

A few titles on clearance such as Incarnate (2016), Aeon Flux (2005) & The Bye Bye Man (2017).

Ended up purchasing:

Jurassic Park 3-D (1993)
Jurassic Park III (2001)
Face/Off (1997)/Snake Eyes (1998)

There's also a 20% off coupon for members that you should have gotten in your email. It lets you choose the day in which you want to have 20% off your purchases.

Re: Big Lots Blu-rays

Some crazy finds at Big Lots are being reported over on the other forum. Someone claims to have found the Paul Naschy Collection from Scream Factory for $5. It's a $50 set.

Re: Big Lots Blu-rays

Some new stock in 4 stores around me but nothing compelling. Found 'The Peacemaker (1997)' in a clear case for $3. Picked up and put it back. Got a $5 off $15 and a 20% off but the store doesn't carry anything good quality in groceries no more, just cheap high sugar junk

Re: Big Lots Blu-rays

I didn't see any of the deals on multiple disc sets mentioned above. The only multi disc sets I saw for $5 were the Star Trek 2 to 4 3 disc set, Star Trek The Compendium 2 movie set, 50 shades of Grey double feature, and a Terminator double feature. They had some steelbooks such as Serenity.

Re: Big Lots Blu-rays

Checked my local store for the first time all year. None of the big finds mentioned above. Almost bought season 3 of 30 Rock for $5, but wised up.
