My wife and I as well. Right before lockdown, we got a Switch Lite for her and a digital copy of the game. She picked the northern hemisphere and I chose the southern and we spent a lot of time flying back and forth… and selling turnips.

Same here, felt like that game was always on the TV. We put a LOT of hours in that one.

In the Funny/Not Funny department, Nintendo is getting a lot of flack for putting out a wheelchair basketball game and not having any sort of accessibility options for those who are disabled and want to play it.
A new Nintendo game features wheelchair basketball. Some say it leaves actual players in wheelchairs behind | CBC Radio https://share.google/M3WI1CpuhXmNCN5Nh

Interesting take. While I think there definitely needs to be more representation and accessibility in video games I think that's a wholly separate issue from the game itself. There are a lot of wheelchair bound folks who can play Drag x Drive. Is the onus on Nintendo to make sure it's games are accessible to everyone? That's a pretty big ask.

Here we go! My wife and I bought a Switch 2 for our daughter for Christmas. We will be a two Switch 2 family.

I'm considering buying one for my 78 year mom so we can play Mario Kart World remotely.

She already has my old Switch 1 and we play MK8 a lot, but she likes the 24 player chaos that MKW introduces into the series

There's a big difference between "accessibly to everyone" and providing some basic accessibility feature like alternate control options, or the option to attach a special accessibility-focused device.

There's ways to attach adaptive controllers to the Switch, via adapters that make them appear as a Switch Pro controller, but the game has to support using a Pro controller.

Absolutely. But that's why I say it's a separate conversation. Representation is different than accessibility. Both are important. But just because Drag x Drive features wheelchairs does that mean that Nintendo needs to make sure that it's accessible for more people? I don't know. Maybe it's implied by the subject matter. But then if you take that as the goal the game features players that do have full use of their upper body. Which those with that type of disability would be able to play the game as is. I do find it interesting that Nintendo wants you to refer to them as vehicles and not wheelchairs. Seems like someone internally already asked the question and they were trying to side step this controversy.

Maybe they should enable pro controller use to expand the accessibility for more people. Or maybe they want to uniquely feature mouse controls and should be able to program the game the way they want to. I can see arguments for both sides.

I'd say representation without accessibility rings hollow, and feels a bit like appropriating a disability for the "novelty" instead of true representation.

I haven’t played either of the other two games in the series (or a musou game in general!), but I am considering this one.

I just saw that Doug Bowser is retiring at the end of the year and Devon Pritchard is taking over.

My kids have loved the Dynasty Warrior Zelda games for the gameplay and the lore that it adds to the TLoZ cannon.

For anyone curious on who Devon Pritchard is. I thought it was a guy.

So will she just be another sycophant for Nintendo of Japan? Did Doug Bowser even really do anything? I know the landscape has changed drastically in terms of video game executives and the "face" portion of the Nintendo of America President is largely unneeded now with Nintendo Directs being the main source of information. But it's still sad to not see a presence of the NOA President at all. Anywhere. We hadn't seen Bowser for years, seemingly the last time was when he was announced as president and they were making fun of his name.

I'm picking up my Switch 2 Pokemon Z-A bundle from Best Buy on Thursday... and I'm trying to decide between getting Mario Kart World or DK Bananza... or another set of joy cons. We'll see.

Go with DK unless you really enjoy racing games. Definitely the system seller for the console as of now.

One daughter got her Switch 2 and the other will get hers today, both the new Pokemon bundles. I hadn't thought about it until just now, but currently with the original Switch, we share the library of digital games, so we only purchase one copy.

With these Pokemon bundles, I paid for two digital copies, but do I only need to register one of them and both daughters play the one copy at the same time like we do the original Switch? Or is the Switch 2 digital library handled differently and they install both copies? Same question with upgrading the existing library to Switch 2. I'm thinking I should have gotten one daughter the Pokemon bundle and the other the Kart bundle

The Switch 2 sharing should work the same way as the Switch sharing, however that changed fairly recently to where you cannot play the same digital game on two different switches at the same time. So I'd suggest, assuming they have different profiles on the switch, downloading one on each of their profiles if they want to trade pokemon and stuff.
