Pretty interesting article about the most likely reason these 2 games aren't part of the subscription service. Since all the subscription Nintendo classics have rewind capabilities and save states if they added these Pokemon titles to them it could mess with the Pokemon Home ecosystem since you can transfer monsters from every old game into the most recent game. And if you were save scumming with the rewind capabilities and save states it would be much easier to get the best version of monsters and add them to Pokemon Home which would flood the online community with these rare Pokemon.

Which is all fine and good but $20 each? With zero improvements? That article explains why thy can’t put it under the GBA app but not why they're charging so much.

And we know. It’s Pokémon. They can charge whatever they want to for it and the mega fans will pay. We all know that’s the real reason.

Yeah the price is a different discussion. They're charging so much because they can and people will pay for it like you said.

And it's a Switch 2 exclusive game.

This has been out for a couple years on Steam with 98% positive reviews, but recently came out on Switch and Switch 2 so I'll mention it here.

Minishoot Adventures is a twin-stick shooter that plays similarly to a 2D Zelda game. Has a number of accessibility options to make gameplay easier or harder. It is quite enjoyable.

To be fair, the thread didn’t exist when I posted. I moved my post to the Switch 2 thread; sorry about that mixup.

The new firmware update includes a bunch of tweaks and updates, but the nearest is “handheld boost mode” which makes Switch 1 games play like they’re docked even in handheld mode.

Seems like because of the EU right to repair initiative, Nintendo will be offering a different version of the Switch 2 with a user replaceable battery in that region.

A demo for Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream is up in most markets and will probably be in the US eShop in a couple of hours. Anything you do can carry over to the full release.

Wanted to mention that the Resident Evil Generation Pack will be pulled from the eshop at the end of March. It's basically 90 bucks for Requiem, RE 7 Gold edition and RE Village Gold Edition. The games will still be available separately after that.

Coincidentally Newegg has a 2 x 50 Eshop gift card for $85 deal, which is slightly better than the non sale Costco price:

Physical Nintendo releases will have a price premium over digital starting with Yoshi and the Mysterious Book: $70 vs. $60, in that case. More at Game Informer.

Digital games should have been cheaper than physical from the beginning.

I assume it was retailer-led — that especially first-parties relied so much on stores like Target, Walmart, Best Buy, GameStop, etc. to sell consoles that they didn’t want to upset the apple cart by disincentivizing retail game sales. But now that you see so few games in stores anymore, I guess they don’t care that much anymore, especially since the smaller percentage of people buying physical games are probably less price-sensitive.

Nintendo clarified to IGN that this isn’t a price increase for physical but a price reduction for digital.

That's exactly it. They didn't want to piss off their B&M retailers which they still depend on to sell the consoles (and or course other things as well). Plus there's still a lot of gift giving decisions that are made staring at a row of games in a B&M store.

Color me absolutely floored and surprised that this isn't a price increase and instead an actual discount on digital media.

I'm sure tariffs also have played a huge part in this decision as well. Nintendo makes a lot more money off of the direct digital sales of games over physical and this is a great way to squeeze more profit out without increasing the price for the consumer.

It would be nice if they offer those cardboard cards with the code on them in store for the same reduced price as the digital. So option is still there for gift giving and may appease the retailers as well.

So my generic Onn 256 gb microSD express card died. And apparently there's no warranty. -rolleyes- Just like 60 days or something like that.

At least I think it's dead. Its no longer being recognized as a microSD express card by the Switch. I can still access the screen shots like it was a regular microSD card which is really odd.

Yikes. I was going to say you always need to check if an SD card is valid if you get it from Amazon because there are lots of "fake" cards out there, but this is a Walmart brand. And I guess there are others with this issue too:

https://www.reddit.com/r/NintendoSwi...d_within_days/
https://www.reddit.com/r/NintendoSwi...king_recently/
https://www.reddit.com/r/NintendoSwi...ed_by_switch_2

That last one had this help page:
https://en-americas-support.nintendo...tch%26nbsp%3B2

Obviously try to get another card to test if it reads, and try to read it on your computer if you have an adapter.

Seems like PNY also has failures:

Oof that sucks, I recently upgraded to a 512gb samsung express before my 256gb ONN gave me any issues, now I'm doubly glad I did.

Oh yeah I know all about Amazon and their fake cards. I was hit with one years ago. Could not tell at all it was fake. Didn't know until a year later and finally found out it was a 32 gb card instead of a 128 gb. Amazon didn't care at all. I even bought it directly from them and not a third party. They suck.

I figured I would try ONN it since it's just an inconvenience if it goes bad. I can always just redownload the games. I might lose some screenshots. That's it. But it's weird because it still recognizes it as a memory card? Just gives the warning that it's not a microexpress SD card.

But especially since they jacked the price up of the ONN cards I really do not recommend them now.

Amazon is supposedly ending this practice but at least earlier they used to pull their vendor orders and the amazon orders for products from the same pool, which is why you could get counterfeit stuff even though you bought from their listing. You always should run something like H2testw on a computer which basically takes the time to write over the entire drive and tests the partitions.

But yeah these appear to be just duds, which sucks.
