Free Final Fantasy VII Remake PS5 Upgrade. Total stunner!

I assumed the upgrade would be free for this. They are selling a new piece of DLC and it's part one of like a 4 part story so they are going to want as many people buying that stuff as they can.

Really weird that they didn't announce the March PS Plus Free games. They normally do that on the last Wednesday of the month and everyone assumed they didn't this time because of they would announce it on the State of Play presentation on Thursday. But that didn't happen either.

Come on guys, whatever it is, it's gonna be better than the Games With Gold offering this month, right?

Ok so my PS5 (digital) arrives tomorrow. I have purchased spider man: miles morales, Sackboy and Immortals Fenix. When I purchased them from the PSN store I chose the PS5 version but under games it shows Spider-Man PS5 but the other two it shows two separate games. PS5 version and PS4 versions. If I have a friend with a PS4 could they log me in and play?

Yes they could. Maybe not if you were playing the same game at the same time, I don't know.
If it's not your primary PS4 though I don't know for sure if they could play the game on their account instead of yours. I only have a PS5 and one PS4 so I can't test that. But if you DON'T have a separate PS4, I guess it doesn't matter.

LOL. I'm not Decker obviously but I own Remnant and it is very good! It is like Dark Souls with guns. Don't sleep on it.

Honestly have never heard of the rest.

I literally bought Remake (physical, for 30 bucks) yesterday with news of the free upgrade.

It's ok though because I want the shiny new upgrade and would still have to pay for the upgrade if I use the PS+ version.

That seems really weird, to specifically exclude the PS+ version from a free upgrade. Control isn't going to be like that, right?

And now thinking about it more... that PS Plus version better be completely separate, or you'll never be able to buy a digital version and upgrade it if you redeemed the PS plus one. Though I guess if that earlier graphic is true, you can still buy a disk version and get a free upgrade to PS5 digital.

It just says that the upgrade isn't free. I didn't take that to mean that people who get it free through + can't pay for the upgrade separately?

It’s probably just a new listing, labeled “PS Plus Version”. Kind of like Drive Club. I don’t think it will mess any else up.

I doubt that there will be an option to pay to upgrade the free version to the PS5 version (besides just paying for the regular version with the free upgrade or buying the PS5 version at regular price), but we will see.

Have there been any rumblings about FFVII:Remake Pt II yet? Or will this be Square's version of Rebuild of Evangelion (gradual entries over 14 years.)?

The only thing I think we can kind of safely say is that if it does come out it won't be on PS4 at all, considering the new DLC is PS5 only.

Maquette is a brand new game and looks awesome. I've been super excited for it.

It does look cool. Not a game I'd usually buy before a big sale, but certainly looks like something interesting to check out.

They could make it possible to play PS5 games on PS4 through PSNow streaming service. But I'm sure Sony wants PS4 users to upgrade to PS5 and won't do that

This was something when the PS5 was /about to be released that this wasn't even implemented and 'Working"...which to me raised a Red Flag. I could never understand why it wasn't, still not and won't be for several months operational....

Still don't have a PS5 and frankly haven't seen the "Need" to....with this still not working, stories on the Controller Drift Issues, not a overwhelming super PS5 Games even though Returnal looks awesome and looks like everyone will be facing "Chip Shortages" throughout the year....
