I'm not giving Sony any extra money especially after finding out yesterday that they are shutting down the online servers for Everybody's Golf. Isn't that the stuff my Plus subscription should be paying for. Go fuck yourself Sony.

Re: PlayStation 5 - 11/12/20
When was this? There was an optical drive in the initial reveal in May 2013 (along with game box art in the now-familiar green case), and the leaks a couple months prior to that made it a point to mention there'd be an optical drive. MCV posted a rumor in 2012 that there wouldn't be a drive, but that itself was at odds with other rumors that there would be.
There was the whole dumb thing about discs not working as we’ve understood them, with restrictions on how physical games could be traded and re-sold, but AFAIK, an optical drive was always part of the plan.

It was that and restrictions on game trade-ins.
On the other hand, you would have been able to play store bought games without the disc and digitally lend games out to a group of friends.

Don't quite know what to make of this. They needed PS Plus money to finish the game. Sorry people downloaded the game once it became available to them, I guess...

If it would not have been made available to me through PS+, I wouldn't have bought the game. I played the original one back in the day, and mostly enjoyed it. I tried another one somewhere along the way, and it didn't click with me at all. I never would have picked this up had I needed to buy it, but was willing to give it a chance to draw me back into the franchise. So far, I haven't played the game, but will at some point.

Giving your game away free is a boon for multiplayer titles, not so much for single player.
Middling reviews also hurt.

Apparently, you can have too many titles on your Wishlist. I tried to add a title and I received an error that said your Wishlist is full. Remove an item to make space.... 99 titles is the limit.

There have been a few times it's worked out for single player, at least for me. I'd never heard of Far Cry until PS+ gave me the second game. After that, I've bought several Far Cry games. Ditto with Deus Ex. I'm sure there's a few more over the years. For the most part though, I agree, there's nothing lasting once I play part or all of the game. If the developer doesn't make enough from the initial deal with Sony, they likely won't be getting more from me.

The easiest solution is probably almost universally despised by all of us here: holding back content to sell as DLC.

Sony just made DualSense firmware updates available via PC. I was able to update the firmware on my wonky DualSense, although I still can't use it wirelessly on the PS5. Has to be plugged in with Bluetooth disabled.

Seems like lost of people are having trouble redeeming their PS+ codes, getting error messages from Sony saying they can't activate the code. Not just for people who bought codes through CD-Key, but Amazon and Target as well.

I purchased a 12 month code last night from Best Buy digital to extend my Plus, but it still hasn't been delivered vía email. It was supposed to be delivered within an hour. Should I even expect it at this point? Are they trying to flush the system of the current batch of codes to keep people from extending? I just want another 12.
