That Aliens game is so difficult. But now at least those of us who were foolish enough to buy it initially might be able to play some with smarter friends who refrained.

Can you not play it single player?

I don't think so. Or if you can it's really hard and not fun. It's designed to be a MP co-op game like Left 4 Dead.

Yes, you can play it alone, but it is best with friends in co-op.

Re: PlayStation 5 - 11/12/20

Gotcha. Thanks. Also, my little rumble noise seems to have gone away. Didn’t do anything except air dusted my equipment, but I always do that, I’m so anal. Oh, I’m sure it’ll be back, but I’m good for now.

Theres no thread on it here, but anyone play Atlas Fallen?

Re: PlayStation 5 - 11/12/20

I'm letting my PS+ membership expire, I've had it for as long as I can remember, so hopefully a decent price comes again around black friday.

I suspect it will.

Speaking of which, everywhere is selling Dual Sense controllers, in most of the colors, for $49.99 each now as part of early Black Friday pricing.

I'd be up for trying it out if we can get a group together.

New Black Friday PS5 bundle comes with Spider-Man 2. That would be worth picking up for those who don't have the system.

PS Direct had the Lebron James version for $39.99, but it's sold out. Might be worth keeping an eye on. Hideously ugly, but I don't care for that price.

Looks like the PS Portal feels nice and comfortable and is well-made. I'll be getting one next week.

It's basically a remote player for your PS5. Not a cloud gaming system, and no processer on board. Just lets you play anywhere in the house instead of on the TV.

Also, I never saw it announced, but the new first-party earbuds, the Pulse Explore, is available for pre-order and comes out 12/6. They're OOS at PS Direct, but able to be pre-ordered at Best Buy. It, like the Portal, is $199.99.
https://www.bestbuy.com/site/sony-in...?skuId=6566053

I think the Pulse Explore is the only wireless solution for audio output for the PS Portal, which is absolutely insane and awful.

Re: PlayStation 5 - 11/12/20

Sounds cool, but I’m not sure I need to play it on small screen. I’m sure it’ll look cool, but can’t be same as big tv and good speakers. I dunno. I had a flip game boy, but not sure about ps5 games on the go. Don’t get me wrong, great idea, but I dunno if I would use it that much. I like my current set up just fine.

Re: PlayStation 5 - 11/12/20

It would be a lot better if you could play cloud streaming games with it. I think one day, probably soon, you will be able to do that (it's just being implemented into the PS5 right now). But as of now, officially, it's just remote play, which is far less useful.

And it only uses WiFi. So it’s not like you can take it all over the place easily.

Is there any difference between that and the phone/tablet app (other than the built in Backbone type controller)?

I'm waiting for some reviews to see. Today sites have been posting impressions on the build, but not on the screen or on how it works.

Re: PlayStation 5 - 11/12/20

I should be getting mine this week but I haven't seen any update to my order from PS Direct. It'll be worth the price for me if it allows me to play PS5 games from upstairs in bed without any lag or latency.

Seems like that should be fine (as long as your wifi reaches). Reviews are mainly talking about the limited nature of the functionality (and I can't see how this won't confuse consumers a lot given the price) and using it remotely (which depends a lot on your home internet and your remote wifi, obviously)

I'd think you'd have similar problems as, say, the Steam Deck with tiny text, though?

Re: PlayStation 5 - 11/12/20

First review of the Portal just dropped and it's pretty positive, given the known limitations of the device.

And yes, they mentioned the tiny text issue.

Yeah, I can see how it may confuse people with all the handheld PCs and cloud gaming devices that are coming out.

At the very least they need to plaster "requires a PS5" in large font on the box. If they have it on the box I can't see it in these reviews.
