I wasn't going to drive back home for a fucking cable. They couldn't take 2 games that they were overstocked on Mortal Kombat XL and Madden 20.

So I'll be using that cash to offset the cost of my new system. Grand total now is $471. Not too bad IMO.

And I already loaded up the new system. It's lightning fast. I also managed to hard wire my internet into it that I forgot I had (it was unplugged from the old system) and it's so improved the download speed from WiFi.
Well congrads on the New System and getting everything working.....we think you'll be happy. As to storage, you really have good options with of course the Best Way, get a Internal NVMe SSD and/or a External USB and just keep and move games freely. Those are still a great option. Last week I moved Elder Scrolls off my External WD USB to my Internal NVMe....the size was about 95gb....it took 2 minutes. With PS4 that would've been 30 minutes. The System SSD is no joke either but I treat it like a PC Drive with OS giving it room to breath and not packing it. And must say PS Store lately has had some good numerous deals...depending on your taste of course. Good luck and have fun.....

Re: PlayStation 5 - 11/12/20

I canceled my PS+, and it had nothing to do with the new tiers. I was playing more games during the peak of the pandemic, but now that things are happening again, I can’t really justify the monthly fee.

Re: PlayStation 5 - 11/12/20

My PS + subscription expires in October so I still have lots of time. I’m not sure I’m a hard core enough gamer to invest in the higher tiers.

I'm keeping my subscription going, but it's pretty much for features that oughtn't cost anything at all like cloud saves or playing online (as rare as online play is for me). The occasional "free" game I'm interested in doesn't hurt either. I'm not interested in either of the higher tiers.

Highly recommend these if you get sweaty hands and find the PS5 controller to get slippery sometimes:

Re: PlayStation 5 - 11/12/20

I checked the offerings for the higher tiers, and I'm going to hold off for now. There are a lot of games on the middle tier that I'd like to play, but I still have a huge backlog of games at the moment. If the standard tier's "free" games dry up or become something I'm not interested in, I'll upgrade.

The faster load times on the PS5 is sometimes a hindrance. I was playing a smaller puzzle game that offered tips on the loading screens, but the game loads too fast to read them. I'm guessing things like that will go by the wayside as loading times disappear more and more.

Re: PlayStation 5 - 11/12/20

Have they said what the frequency is going to be to add new games to the Extra and Premium tiers? I decided to purchase Premium for the rest of my PS Plus membership to test it out and was pretty happy with the selection as I'm not someone who purchases alot of new games. The fact that the games become unplayable though after they are removed from the service (even though you downloaded them) tempered that excitment a bit.

Re: PlayStation 5 - 11/12/20

The entire Dark Pictures Anthology is already available to those who have a higher tier of PS Plus. Their new Game Pass-clone service is only two weeks old and they're already adopting the Xbox model of giving folks "free" games they already have access to.

That Crash game is outstanding and a really impressive freebie for those who don't already own it (does not apply to me, natch).

I'm happy about getting Crash 4 on the cheapest tier.

After a few months of rather "blah" Plus games, glad to see those three for this month.

Hi Max, have you had experience with Kontrol Freek's grips? Wondering how they compare to the grips you linked. KF's wore out quickly and I didn't like the feel.
Thanks

Sorry, but I do not. This is the first time I have ever added grips to a controller like this.

Wife was out of town last Sunday so I decided to try to squeeze in one PS+ Collection game, Detroit Become Human. Good game, but I don’t think I’m going to finish before my subscription expires today.

That's a steal on Back 4 Blood. It's really fun playing with friends.

Re: PlayStation 5 - 11/12/20

If you own any Studio Canal movies from the PS store, you are going to lose access to them. Man, if I owned any, I would be livid.

This is why you don't "own" digital movies.

Here we go. I have started going mostly digital for movies now and this shit terrifies me.

This is why piracy will never completely die off no matter what they do.

Well that and people are cheap, but no less.

Re: PlayStation 5 - 11/12/20

I'm not sure why it would terrify anyone, multiple companies have stated that what we are buying is simply a license to watch said movies as long as they are on their respective services.

Re: PlayStation 5 - 11/12/20

A lot here have invested thousands in digital movies and have gotten rid of their physical collections. That's why it would terrify some here.

I don't think I saw Basic Instinct or T2 on that list. Those are Studio Canal movies. Fortunately I have both on 4K disc.

But, I don't think many buy movies from the PS Store, especially since they are not linked to Movies Anywhere. The only one I have is the 1st Kingsman movie.

AFAIK, this won't affect anyone in the U.S. Maybe there could be a similar problem with another studio, though.

Yeah, there seems to be numerous reasons why Sony opted to stop selling/renting movies and TV shows via PS4/PS5 nearly a year ago.
