Re: PlayStation 5 - 11/12/20

Amazon has put up the PS5 for sale. But, they are using an Invitation system.

Likely to help flush out the EBay scalpers and Bots.

I went ahead and gave it a try. We'll see if I got the prize.

If I go manage to get one. I will probably sell my XBox One S and whatever games I have to offset the cost. I rarely play it and I need that slot in my small entertainment cabinet. I have no room for a 3rd console. But, that's a big "If"

June's PS Plus Games. Nice to give God of War, but anyone with a PS5 and PS Plus already has it.

I'm glad I waited on buying Nickelodeon All Star Brawl. I almost bought it on Black Friday.

Nice! I'll try. This method looks much better for me than the ones where I'm expected to be able to drop everything I'm doing at an exact time.

Re: PlayStation 5 - 11/12/20

That State of Play was unreal - easily their best ever. (Drawing a distinction between State of Play and Sony’s bigger showcases.)

I’m not sure how many of those games are for me, given a pretty marked horror slant (I guess I prefer watching to playing), but I was impressed by pretty much everything I saw.

I even have sufficiently bad taste to be interested in Evernight! Final Fantasy XVI stole the show. I’m tempted to buy a Street Fighter game for the first time since the Genesis era. Nice to have dates for a bunch of stuff too, including Stray next month (fingers crossed for a physical release). And at long last, no Deathloop!

A great start for the not-E3 season!

Re: PlayStation 5 - 11/12/20

I give the State of Play a 6-7...it was basically about Horror base, Add-on, upgrades, port to PC to some and Animation Style...there was no really killer wow look at that game in the mix unless you put in Final Fantasy. I think those WOW games will be coming later with those using the new Unreal Engine 5; that alone will make a huge difference and will produce the WOW effect......I'm actually looking forward to the MS and Bethesda Show June 14th. It might and probably will determine getting a PC (or XBox)....

The PSVR 2 stuff was pretty amazing. Day one for me.

It seems PSPlus stacking no longer works. I had a card from cd keys that didn't work last week. Customer service said try again when my subscription runs out. Luckily my sub expired yesterday. Put in same code today and it renewed.

I think they will stack again after the PS Plus Premium service goes active.

I'm "stacked" until April 2024, but I wish I would've stacked a few more years on top of that before this thing they did.

Re: PlayStation 5 - 11/12/20

I'd like to just be able to add the one year of Plus that I paid full price for well over a month ago to my account. However, I still can't do that. It is aggravating that my Plus ends soon and I can't add my time on. I have zero interest in getting time with their two new tiers. In fact, after this debacle, I'm tempted to never do it on principle.

Re: PlayStation 5 - 11/12/20

If your PlayStation Plus membership expires, do you lose all your PS+ games after you renew or do you just lose access to them until you renew again?

I can’t speak from personal experience and can’t quickly find an official source, but I’m seeing a whole bunch of references while Googling that you’ll have access to all your old stuff once you re-up.

Thanks. I was curious about that. I sold a lot of my disc games when I received those same games for free on PS+. I'd hate to lose access to them if I forgot to renew.

So far, have heard nothing from Amazon about the invitation for the PS5. I'm not counting on getting one.

Yeah you absolutely get them when you renew. I had my membership expire to see if an uncredited code would trigger (it didn't -- long story). Anyway, everything I ever grabbed on PS Plus is still there. And Cloud saves will also persist as long as you re-up within 6 mo (I believe that is the correct time frame -- those saves would eventually expire if you didn't join up again for at least a month)

Re: PlayStation 5 - 11/12/20

It’s easy to forget because Sony has barely mentioned it at all, but the new PlayStation Plus Premium service launches tomorrow.
You should be able to again start PS Plus Basic subscriptions to your service after that.

Re: PlayStation 5 - 11/12/20

Okay, you can join or upgrade your PS Plus to PS Plus Premium membership at a discount now (but have to pay for the entire length of your active PS Plus membership if you do).

And yup, I seem to be good for five more years.

Re: PlayStation 5 - 11/12/20

That's a chunk of change but maybe worth it for 4+ years?

Wonder why you're being quoted a next payment of $139.99 in 2026 and I'm getting quoted $119.99 in 2027?

No, you can download or stream them. In the lower tiers, streaming is not offered.
